This is how researchers have been able to find the phishing link that tricked Colin Powell and got him hacked. This also allowed them to confirm other public reports of compromises, such as that of William Rinehart, a staffer with Clinton’s presidential campaign. As The Smoking Gun reported in August, Rinehart received a malicious Google security alert on March 22, according to a screenshot Rinehart shared with the site. SecureWorks found a URL that had Rinehart’s Gmail address encoded, which had the same date

There's no excuse for shit like this today.

It's like being on a downtown sidewalk after midnight without a gun. Such a fool.

How many PSA's tell people not to go downtown at midnight without a gun?

These days only idiots click on links in random emails saying you need to "click here to change your password".

Powell has a bit of an excuse because there wasn't as much obvious phishing going on, or at least it wasn't in the news nearly as much.

Just wait till it's the GOP and Fox News' turn to have their hacked servers posted.

You know it's coming.

Greg Gutfield has it right. He refuses to speak about the emails because he says "we're next"

Yup. It's only a matter of time.
Maybe that'll be the November surprise.

I am sure weak passwords exist throughout the political world. we could probably guess Trump's password bro.
It wasn't a weak password issue. He fell for a phishing email, wouldn't have mattered if he used a 300 character password.

UKRAINE? According to Hillary and her "17 NS Agencies" it's definitely a Russian government cyber unit that's responsible.

*Conspiracy alert *. Maybe it's the Ukrainian government trying to start a war between Russia and the USA or since Google was birthed by the CIA , perhaps We hacked our own people to start all this shit?

yeah, I got that too. simple solution to most password issues is to have multiple layers of verification. whether that's a keyfob or app that generates random codes bro.

That location is just where the phisher said the attempt came from. Unlikely to be connected to reality.
Could just as easily been some IP from the US capital building.

True but your raining on my free tinfoil hat promotion, not to mention my attempt to lure Mike Yates out from his bunker.
