A sweep is impossible for anyone without taking the first 2. That's what a sweep is.

Bill Murray had it right, Cubs got too many sticks. As good as Cleveland is (and they are) I can't see them beating Chicago 4 times. They could still collapse of course since they are the Cubs but I think maybe those days are finally over.

I was really hoping this would happen.

Bill Murray had it right, Cubs got too many sticks. As good as Cleveland is (and they are) I can't see them beating Chicago 4 times. They could still collapse of course since they are the Cubs but I think maybe those days are finally over.

The Cubs were the better team this season, but they're closer together than is usually recognized, and the Indians have the extra home game if they need it.

Remember those Braves teams that went to the playoffs something like 15 straight years? The only time they managed to win the World Series was against, of course, the Indians. So this Series is a setup for something like that to happen again. I don't want to say Cleveland sports is snakebit or anything -- they did just win a pretty big title four months ago, for the first time since I was a toddler -- but the Indians are a team that has had two serious injuries since the playoffs began, and neither one happened in an actual game.

So I'll watch with interest, but not particularly high expectations.
