Cool ice. This is because trans girls can be superbadass marines before they transition and the USA needs badass people, no matter what their gender :)

Since this came down from the very top of the military, it applies to all military bases. That's quite a win.

This makes me so sad

such a pretty girl. I know regular cis girls do this too, I know more than a couple... in fact I bet I know a dozen. There's nothing you can say :(

Clue - check her arm
I've never understood cutting (by which I mean that I personally couldn't do it), but the fact that I don't doesn't make it any less sad that people feel driven to do this as a way of expressing the stresses they're under - like being invalidated on a daily basis. I had my own dysfunctional ways of dealing with things I couldn't handle, as does everybody.

I cut a few times but it didn't work for me - I just ended up in tears about the mess. It's supposed to distract you from everything else. I'm glad I didn't become habitualised with it.
I do understand it though and if you spot someone with scars, which are usually on the left arm, because most people are right handed, then just pretend they are not there, no matter how shocked you might be. They are not attention seeking - most will go to lengths to hide their cuts because they are embarrassed with what they do. Like eating disorders, it is something over which you have control when everything else in your life is not. :rose:

contest?

Sticky, is there a prize for the person who has the 100,000th view on this thread? That would be more fun than the election taking place over here.

There are prizes everyday. Didn't you get the email?;)
We're only up to 1693, so I think I'll be an old lady by the time that happens!

My thoughts about, not just your election, but the way public figures feel it is acceptable to say out loud things they should keep themselves. OK, if you don't like one type of person or another, that's your problem - you don't have to say it out loud. Like comedians have done, there is an initial shock/attention-grabbing value in being outrageous, but it very quickly turns sour, then hateful and before you know where you are, you've got brown-shirt troopers beating up the opposition.

I wouldn't shoot Trump or Hilary, but I would line up the entire management of the Murdoch empire and gun them down. Freedom of speech, my ass. Freedom to hate is their game

Yeah, the hate speech and the Orwellian new speak are very disturbing. Can't sleep very well just being in this social climate. Lies and anger, threats of violence and retribution from the right.

But back to the approaching milestone on your thread, you have 1693 replies, but you also have 99,934 views on the Lit counter. Views apparently includes visits from lurkers. 100K views is rapidly approaching. Will the winner get something special, like an all-expenses paid vacation to an island? Or maybe just one of your famous icon combos with a special picture. That would be easier.

Hmm... don't want to get too many posts or else it'll be caste into the pit of oblivion  but views.... oh yea, well spotted. Half the views will be people hoping to get off with some hot cyber trans girl  but they're welcome too

Let it be known that on election day 2016 in the USA that the hot cyber girl's thread surpassed 100,000 views.

I did it when I was younger. for me, it was a way of diverting the crippling mental anguish I was experiencing for a while. the physical pain caused by cutting my forearm was a more
immediate, sharp pain and I also had to then deal cleaning up the mess and hiding it from everyone. that also helped to prevent me thinking about what was wrong. ive had the same feelings again recently, but I'm better prepared and able to speak with my dr. about it now.

it makes me sad to see evidence of other people doing it too, but I can totally understand why. I just hope they don't seriously hurt themselves in the process.

Holy crap! I suppose 100k is a big number so thank you all, lurkers included, for stopping by. I'd like to see more than 1 in 200 making a post though so, as ever, ask away :)

I think I'll celebrate by putting up a new AV

OMG, each avatar is hotter than the last one !!

It brightened an otherwise sad day across the pond
