How hard is it to find a long term roleplay partner? I'm a switch, though I tend to be more of a sub. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me? I think I'm a good roleplayer, I'm detailed and aim to please my partner. Maybe I should have someone check and see what I'm doing wrong, if i am doing anything wrong that is. Well anyhow if there's any guys out there that think they have the capabilities to roleplay a lady and not call her obscene names, and actually roleplay, not wham, bam, thank you ma'am, I'll be here. P.s. roleplay is not just saying sexual thing you would do, isn't there supposed to be a story like setting? Instead of "i would rub you firmly through your slacks, while biting your lip." Shouldn't it be." Nerves build inside me causing my hands to shake as they gently push against the bulge straining against your jeans. RP and cyber sex or sexts are both different things. With all things there really isn't anything exact to what something should or shouldn't be. This also is present via phone sex. There are some who prefer roleplay by voice and many like myself that wish to have the person I'm speaking with engaged and not assuming a role of someone they aren't. It's merely a preference, there is no right or wrong way hope that helps you and best of luck.

Though, a lot of times disappointment is relative with expectations. If you have expectations, especially very specific ones, then you are bound to get disappointed.

Particularly on the Personals, you will find people who just want quickies - and that's ok - don’t expect more here. It is difficult to invest in a long creative text message while you’re jacking yourself off. All my sexting experiences with new guys has been short and to the point with pictures and videos. It’s only afterwards, when we realise we have connected on a level we didn’t expect that the texting changes to a more creative, seducing and intimate conversation.

I’m new, and I plunged into the personals on the first day I was on Lit. In two weeks, I’ve met 25 lovely gentlemen. I think I’ve been very lucky with hooking up with some great guys - and some are keepers So, don’t give up. They are on here, you just need to play together first.

Just some suggestions:

Don’t rely on first impressions - it’s hard for strangers to make that initial connection if they don’t know you or can’t see you. Forgive the crassness, the single ‘hi’s’, and the creepy one-liners. They can only say the right thing to you once they get to know you a little better.

And, don’t expect a commitment or long term role play partner up front - have fun and enjoy the person, then afterwards you can both decide if you want to go for long term.

But, I suggest you go to the sexual roleplaying section. Read some of the stuff there and see who interests you, then PM them.

Or in your personals, you can specifically say you are looking for partners who are creative writers because you enjoy the intellectual seduction. And give them a challenge, say: write me something seductive as your intro to me

There are other options. Personally I think descriptions of "I would do this...:" no matter how colourful, are nothing compared with mind games. But to each his/her own.

Do ask for specifics in your personal.

Also, please don't dismiss a person based on what their first PM says if there's been some semblance of effort that has gone into writing to you. We get better as we understand how you engage and respond to our initial few messages. Good luck!

This is an interesting perspective. I'm not sure I agree with it, though I see people toss the terms "RP" and "roleplay" around here, when they really mean cybersex. The two excerpts you included here are both, at their root, cybersex. One is certainly more descriptive, more interesting, and higher quality as far as writing goes. That doesn't make it roleplaying.

Here's my perspective. I think the more correct connotation of roleplay (I'm a huge tabletop roleplaying nerd, so this is near and dear to my heart), is that it is story driven and not just a scene set purely to get off. Cyber is one scene. Roleplay is a collection of scenes laced together in order to tell a story, and in roleplaying, the collaborative storytelling is the ultimate goal.

Others will continue to use the term "RP" to describe a cyber scene where they "roleplay" a hot milf, or a succubus, or the guy from 50 shades of grey, and I can't stop them. But that's not what RP really is, in my opinion.
