This has become an expected cost of having a new president and his family in the White House. There is a set budget of $100,000. Not to mention they can use foundations and donations. The Obamas paid for their changes themselves.

I worry about the cost of having the Trumps redecorate, not to mention the gaudiness of the final result. How much does it cost to Gold Leaf the entire White House and Oval Office? Somehow, I don't see a budget limit stopping the Trumps from utilizing public money to decorate as they wish.

or major renovations,
like those done by jackie kennedy
and nancy reagan
were financed by private donations (primarily by political backers)
and are outside of the operations budget.
all renovations are vetted through the curator of the white house
and
funded through the private, non governmental, tax exempt
white house endowment trust fund

still,
trump taste, as it is,
is gaudy at best...

the current curator would no doubt pitch a blue-blooded bitch
were trump style offered up as appropriate

a final check/balance for propriety
