Our local KFC shut down a few months ago. The entire staff came down with the Heroin and corporate pulled the franchise.

Four years ago I drove homeward to my Central Sierra Nevada hamlet from a SoCal funeral during a blizzard. I couldn't drive home; the house was snowed in and my partner was at a nearby in-law's. They needed food. I stopped at The Colonel's in the county seat for three-four buckets of fried bird, then drove uphill. We ate that stuff for two-three days till we were sick of it. But it was better than hunting frozen squirrels to roast. KFC: Tastes like shit but you can live on it. (Croc Dundee)

It could be construed a racist. Why point to person's skin colour at all if it was a jibe at KFC? Was it relevant? Do mostly blacks eat at KFC in the US? It's a well known stereotype up here that all Yanks like to deep fry any food. Even turkey legs and Mars bars! Along with a preoccupation with race, even from those who may not be racists.
Up here we can ignore our racist tendencies because we can say "At least we are not as bad as the Yanks". Which doesn't help in dealing with our racism. Kind of lowers the bar sort of thing.
I'll take Double Double Pizza's chicken over KFC any day.

Popeye's sucks. We have one here in London. Went twice. Second time to see if I just caught them on a bad day. Shyte food! Are they popular in Yankland?

I do have to say, their quality has gone down since they were acquired by a venture capital company. When under the management of their founder the food was much better.
But yes they are popular. Especially in Louisiana.
