I'm suspicious about this....

Lately I have been getting IM's from some people who are totally new to this site they say they liked my post or something like that and lets get acquainted. When I check their profile they always have an off site blog that they want me to go to see pictures and other stuff. I'm wondering if anyone else is getting these and what you have found out? I smell a hacking attempt but I'm not smart enough with the computer to know for sure....any thoughts
