I know Mother Nature is making her indignation over global warming known tonight in Florida, but does that give Civil Authorities the right to declare Martial Law? Who sayz you can't be out in the storm if you want to be. It is YOUR GOD GIVEN RIGHT!

Daytona - You gotta fight, for your right, to paaaaaaahhhhhhtTTtayyyyy!

Civil authorities don't declare "martial law," dumbass. Martial law is the imposition of military authority in the face of alleged failure of civil authority.

Nobody wants to risk their neck to rescue some idiot who doesn't come in out of the rain.

On the global warming thing... you do know that hurricane strength has been slightly declining on average for the past 15 years, right?

Citation? Be sure to include typhoons, cyclones, tornadoes, and all other atmospheric storms worldwide. Also extreme cold-weather events. Global warming involves more energetic weather globally, not only local events. Citation?

Exactly this. Get your stupid ass to a safe place and stay there so that other people don't have to risk their lives to save you.

I have to say (from sitting in the safety on top of my mountain), if I were in the bullseye, I'd probably stay put too. I'd like to see it. And really, I've done a lot of dumber things in my life.

Please explain to us non-scientists how these two things are related.
