Ultimate Rejection

The irony is that I have a whole collection--maybe hundreds--of CIA/mafia/BDSM stories. More tense than violent, however (for the most part). :D

Hey, just remember, if you need any resources on the mafia Freddie is pretty connected:rolleyes:

I've just written one on a fishing trip into the Bay from Baltimore on July 4th on which nearly everyone gets popped off. The guys were from New York rather than Boston, and they weren't wearing dresses, so I didn't think of asking Freddie for help.

They changed it to following because of twitter. In fact the new panel in general resembles a twitter home page quite a bit.

That'al all be new to me, as I don't Tweeter. (Or is that "tweet"?) I don't even app.

Seriously you should do a mafia story set in RI on Federal Hill, not so much these days-although there is still a presence-but back in the seventies, eighties, the mafia was like white on rice in that area.

Bobo Marapese, of course Patriarca was the top dog. The Tilinghasts were another family. My family had a lot of bad blood with. We were never 'connected' just crazy and some of my idiot uncles and cousins did grunt work and running for those losers.

But I think Federal Hill would appeal to you.

Has Freddie ever been a Domme to a high-profile mobster?

I bet if you asked them they would say yes. Then tell you all about how they founded the family, had incestuous relationships with them "The family whose Family!" Ba da bing!

Actually Pilot and I are joking, Freddie knows the mafia like I go to church on Sundays.

Naw, if it has to be RI, I'm more of a Newport person. I have some stories set there and nearby New London, CT.

Newport is awesome. My younger daughter is living there. Trying to buy, but property for sale up there is rare and in many cases sky high price wise.

Have you been to Federal Hill? If you haven't and you go I bet the atmosphere would grab you and you'd have to write something. The East Side has some areas like that as well The Thayer Street/Brown crowd is....interesting.

Or maybe it is the other way around.

No, they've mentioned many times women in control to any degree scare them because its just not the way it should be. He'd run.

Being a switch though, I'm game. Watcha got?

Ah, just kidding. Married equates retirement for me. Well at least outside the house anyway.

I have driven through Providence (on my way from Vermont to Newport), but that's about it. Not long enough to get an impression.

Got to hit FH on a Friday or Saturday night, some great restaurants. But its the 'ambiance' really has a great old world feeling.

Also for some reason Atwells ave which is the main road there has at least six tattoo parlors. You can plot bunny an entirely different crowd in there.

That's probably what I was looking for in RI towns--sort of Mystic without all of the tourists. I didn't get that feeling from Providence when I drove through it. Of course forty years ago I would have been interested in whether it had a GM leather bar district. :D

Because it helps you remember who you are trolling? Is there some sort of notification process on when a favorited author posts a story that I'm not aware of?

I heard there will be a notification feature 'soon'. But if you fav someone their story file is right there so the troll can pop in and bomb anything or everything. New releases I am sure they find in the daily story list.

I notice that the stories that get bombed the most for me are the "A's" because the trolls are too lazy to work their way down.

But I have heard of posters faving someone to make it easy to bomb them. I am sure many of us are on the pages of Scouries and Freddie alts.

Indeed, the new control panel informs you when your favorite authors post a new story/poem etc.

I can see wholesale author unfavoriting in my future from folks irritated at receiving a message weekly that I have something new posted--and I wouldn't blame them a bit from getting out from underneath that. If they include the capability of turning it off at the author end, I'll do so. I don't like push promotion.

I would think-hope-there is a way to turn it on and off the way we can currently do that with feedback comments and votes.

Smashwords recently started doing this where if you have bookmarked an author they e-mail you when they have a new book. But in that sense its a good feature because it could lead to a sale and most people don't have books out that frequently.

I'll have to ask my publisher about that. We sell something new of mine on Smashwords at least every two weeks. I think that is too much push promotion from one author.

What I don't like about it-although it could be a glitch as its new-is I get more than one e-mail per book. I got one that an author had a new book, then two days later another one. I looked and it was for the same book. I'm hoping that was a bug because that would be annoying over time.

I've been bookmarked by about 200 readers there. Of course, like here who knows how many are active there. So when I got my first book out with that new feature I was hoping to see more sales than previous books.

Still hoping....
