I just finished my 'practice pack' for my holiday.....

....and it turns out I can only take 2 sets of clothes for the fortnight.
All the rest of the space in my bags is taken up by 1:18 scale model cars I need to get signed while at Bathurst race weekend (Penske is coming to Oz for this race, and it may be the only time ever I can get his signiature!)

Dilemma from hell.

One pair of pants, three shirts and fresh undies for all days. The only shoes you need are the ones you leave in.

Shoes, I only need the one pair.
But where I am going to has all four seasons in one day - and so I need to pack one of everything.
Or........ I need to go shopping when I get there!

What race?

Boots usually cover all weather and can look good.

Ship the cars to the hotel...

Can't do that, as I'm not staying at a hotel and because I don't know anyone in Bathurst I also can't send them to anyone.
I'm camping on the mountain (there are campgrounds around the racetrack.)

Well, fuck. You sure have another crisis on your hands, WQ. Whatever will you do?

Accept you are maybe taking too much to sign? I don't know about people signing cars, but at things I go to where people bring things to sign people often ignore good form and bring many, many things to sign. A few things are fine, beyond that it's a bit......cheeky I think.

I have 6 cars for Penske to sign, and have already organised with DJR racing team to get them done (have the entire collection, so the team know me well as I have been doing this for years).
Also have 8 cars for various other teams to sign, all pre-arranged.

Taking the camping gear is using most of the space in my bags, plus the cars.
I've decided to spend half a day shopping in Sydney for clothes before heading to Bathurst.
Problem solved :)

You've hit this nail on the head, WQ. With all the problems in the world, your packing dilemma is THE dilemma from hell. Fuck the starving and sick, the abused, the refugees, they matter not, especially by comparison to what you're going to wear whilst traveling.

You're finally starting to clue in.

WQ, just wear 2 or 3 of everything and take it off when you get there.

Like anyone else here actually gives a damn about most of the things you listed
99% care more about when they run out of coffee, or the net drops out....

Wait!
Maybe you meant that nobody should put anything lighthearted on here?!
We should all be busy discussing world issues and inequalities - thread after thread examining solutions to world hunger and the refugee problem.

My bad.
