Question about what's allowed or not

Hello,

I've written an unpublished story where the main characters spend a week playing a real-life vampire game. In it, they "kill" people, but in the description it's explicitly stated that they use fake blood bags and that the victims are volunteers acting the part. I'm pretty sure that this doesn't violate any rule.

For the second part, I was wondering if I could write the story as if they really were vampires. Doing so would require that the killing and bloodsucking look real. There would be no mention of fake blood bags or willing volunteers.

Would that be okay?

Thanks

MrIllusion

P.S. The vampire story will be the seventh in the series, with very human and a very realistic setting well established.

As I read the anti-snuff rule, a killer may not gain sexual pleasure whilst offing someone. I suppose as long as your vamps don't orgasm whilst they fatally drain victims, fine. I'd suggest reading some Erotic Horror stories here to see just what the limits are. But fake blood? Feh.

Do a search on story tags using "vampire" and you'll see what can be done. I have several stories where vampire fuck/suck their prey to death. I make it the ultimate sexual experience for the one those who die and all of the stories have posted without challenge. Don't use "death" or "murder" as a tag, though, that won't be permitted.

Hello,

I'm getting different answers here. The anti-snuff rule should prevent what sr71plt describes.

I'll take a look at your stories sr71plt and try to see if I can make my story work within the rules.

Thanks

Just be aware that all of my vampire stories are GM. The principles would be the same for a hetero story, though.

Non human creatures are allowed to break every rule here. You're safe.

I've seen that happen a lot too (it's one of the categories that I regularly read). I actually messaged Laurel with a question about where the line between Nonhuman and Bestiality is drawn, and after some messages back and forth I have a fairly good understanding. Apparently the creature in question should be sentient and capable of some form of speech. If so, then you're probably good. But just don't insert that into your bestiality story to get it approved, it needs to actually play a role in the story.

Anyway, back on topic, it's always hard to judge. My first reaction to the stories sr71plt mentions would be that that won't be allowed, since it does seem to have some very strong resemblances to snuff as they kill someone during sex. I can't imagine the vampires didn't get a thrill out of that, so again that seems to resemble snuff. But since his stories have been approved I guess you should be good. Maybe a good idea to take the rape-rule into account though: make sure the victim really enjoys it. That could be a deciding factor.

You could mention the blood is fake and the victims are actors just to be safe. When you do that in the story could also make a difference. Stating it right at the start would be the safest, while revealing it in the end could be an interesting plot twist.

Long story short: since it's all fake and there have been loads of other vampire stories approved already you're probably good. Might be a good idea to check some vampire stories out to get a feel for what kind of stories are acceptable though.

Well, after reading a few of sr71plt's stories, I should be alright, especially given that the first part of this vampire storyline will be set in a role-play setting. I'll still take a look at the rules before posting the story once it's written.

Thanks.

Sometimes there's no real way to tell until you submit it and Laurel puts it through or turns it down.

Though I rather get the impression that violence and murder is allowed as long as it's not supposed to be the part of the story that the reader gets off from.
