In about 1995, I was selling real estate. On a particular transaction and I was representing the seller. The buyer's agent brought a Muslim who wanted to buy the property but could not pay interest and of course didn't have the $280,000 cash.

so what I did was I drew up an agreement for sale that wrapped the underlying note and routed everything through a title company so that the seller was given a "principal" check that was the same amount as if it had imputed interest on the second mortgage, and the mortgage compsny for the underlying note in first position was paid monthly as well.

The way I had to write it up was the seller sold it to them the house for something like $570,000 or some such and set it up and equal payments with no interest.

Made for some interesting property tax complications as well as appraisers looking at the sale of that property couldn't figure out why it's old so high.

It's amusing to me to hear the horror in the voices of those speaking of ritualistic sacrifice of animals for food by Muslims as if it's not exactly the same practice described in the Old Testament. The same method of slaughter used to ensure that the animal is kept Halal by Muslims is used to ensure that it is Kosher by Jews.

The head of each family acts in proxy for Ibrahim (Abraham) sacrificing the "ram in the thicket" in place of Ishmael (Isaac).

If you want horror, take a day trip to the local slaughterhouse here in the U.S..

I wasn't asking in the line of "your next door spinsterly neighbour who wants to know everything".
It was just that I noticed that the board attendance has been dropping steadily, which made me think about the posters whose posts I enjoyed and miss.
