What do you guys collect? for me its tobacco pipes and vintage tools. My big kick right now is buying up the old Lufkin precision tools because because they can be found fairly cheap and are just as good(sometimes better) then the big names like Starrett. I also just picked up a 1940s vintage Federal indicator with U.S Ordnance department marks and have a Starrett last word indicator from the same period on its way.

I'm not a collector. Movies for a while as a teen and into my early twenties, but I gave that up. I just try to have as little stuff as possible.

Cast iron is the way to go in my opinion.

Thats what my wife thinks about my old tool collection. Many have made their way into my box at work.

My main two guitars are a Jimmie Vaughan Strat and a Martin DM. The last year or so the Martin has seen Much more use. The Strat is actually getting dusty. I also have a 60s Gibson Classical that gets played every once and a while.

After years of collecting Superhero's and other tyles of comics, I sold everything off except for about 40 key superhero comics I keep as an investment.

I now collect only horror comics, mostly 1950's right now. Hard market because either they're beat to piss, or if they're high grade they're pricey.

I've never heard of Elderly. If I ever go to a Michigan St game I'll be sure to stop in.

Ya. Damn near around the corner I think. Both are in Lansing anyway. They have a 36 Martin right now. They're asking 85k. Most expensive I've seen there was a one owner pre war gibson with case and accessories. They were asking 100k for it. If you want an early Strat or Les Paul these are the guys to talk to.

1:18 scale model cars.
Currently have around 465.
But they're more an investment...... My collection of Moffatt racecars has just been valued at $30,000, for an investment of $4,000. If I need money quickly, I can sell these quite easily, and some have increased in value by over 10 times since I bought them.
Unfortunately, I have had to hire a storage shed because there are just too many to fit in the house.

A few weeks ago I made my first antique purchase. Technically they're vintage, in 10 years or so it will be antique. It's a complete set of Pyrex (made in America) nesting cinderella bowls with the Friendship pattern in awesome condition.

Dude, not that I'm a collector of Pyrex bowls, but I have the same set. Instead of the birds I have flowers. My ex wife grandfather gave them to me for some reason. He said they were a weading gift from his first wife. The Dude was later 80's and had been married young. I've been using them as everyday dishes for the last 10 years. Who knew? Great bowls tho.

I didn't know much about the bowls when I bought them, but since then I've learned so much. The story about how Pyrex became a kitchenware manufacturer is neat. Anyways, I intended to use them daily when I made the purchase, but now I think I will display them on top of my kitchen cabinets, and just use them for special occasions. The lady who sold them to me said to handwash them because a dishwasher will pit and dull the finish.
