I get anywhere from 2000-90,000

But then chapter 2 has barely broken 1000

So true. I've been here a year and my highest is about 70,000 views. But some of these guys have been writing here for years. We're just neophytes

The more you write the bigger the fan base. The more categories helps a lot also. A blue W or two along the way helps also.

I'm happy with my small amount of views, and that's probably because my ratings are pretty good, at least to me.
I could have a million people read something but it wouldn't mean much if the rating was lik 1 or 2.

So I'm fine with a small amount reading, as long as they seem to like it.

If you want to learn a bit of humility submit a poem. The most views I have is 21,000, because through a fluke it got to the top of the top list for a while. My average views is about 2,000

My last submission, Doodle Dandy-Walker, has been viewed all of 262 times over six months but has 9 votes at 4.78 and I reckon it is one of my better efforts.

However, if a well known Lit prose writer submits a poem they will get numerous views - reputation drives the numbers.
