Swings are the best! My favorite piece of playground equipment, immediately followed by that spinny thing that can make you puke if you're trapped on it long enough.

I'm not a fan of see-saws.

I have this exact same problem! At times I wish they would allow orders of more than three at once...

I've not encountered a month yet where I don't find at least one book.

Do you listen to the podcast, "All the Books"? Liberty Hardy is one of the BOTM judges and she is on that podcast. I love her and hate her all at the same time because every week I had at least another book or two to my list.

reading fanboy idiots argue about dc v marvel movies on the internet really makes me hate fanboy idiots who argue about dc v marvel movies on the internet.

also, i should have just jerked off again. oh well. live and learn.

I grew up on a large(ish) fresh water lake. At the time it was a sleepy lake that the locals used for fishing, swimming and skiing. It was built in the 20s as part of the CCC program and to provide hydro-electricity.

Over the years, the lake has become a tourist mecca with mega houses renting for $20,000 a week. There's a ski resort with a white water kayak course on the banks of the lake now. For 90 years the lake has been part of the community and the culture. It's provides 80% of the local tax base.

With the rise of tourism in the past 20 years, the locals tend to stay away from the lake, but it remains the identity of this region. It's what we are known for.

I've had 10 or 12 friends die in or on the lake over the past 30 years or so; but it's the lake and it's who we are. Yesterday a local icon of the community was found dead in the lake. A 68 year old woman who was a retired teacher and director of the local community theater. Everybody in this small community knew her and she was well loved. I knew her and the town theater is right next to my office - although I can't say I was close to her, we'd wave when I was leaving work and she was preparing for the play to be performed that evening.

As I sit here and read the FB messages and think about life in general, it strikes me that she knew and loved the lake for all of her 68 years. But that was how she died. She lived the lake community, yet there she drowned. I don't know what the feeling is, but it's odd. To have something that is such a part of your life, but that very thing becomes the instrument of your death.

TLDR

Also... Days off are running rampant around here. I think a lot of you ppl are going to get into mischief today.

The consumer in me wants to upgrade from the last generation to the latest and greatest...because you NEED to stay on top of things right??

The tightwad in me says last gen is still more than capable of doing everything I need and to run the wheels off them shits.

I don't have the day off - I am debating curling up under my desk for the rest of the day though and nap. The people are very angry here today for a Friday.

I keep my electronic gadgets and gizmo's until they die. I guess I fall into the tightwad category.

Sheesh! What's wrong with them. Friday's are for good moods, even if you tend to be a crabby person.
