Can being thoughtful be a cover for being passive aggressive? Dictating terms of a situation by manners. Holding the door open for someone, letting someone go first at a stop sign, letting someone with just a couple things ahead of you in the checkout line? Sure it's nice but can't that aortic act when considered controlling and done to show one being nice as opposed to just altruistic?

I think it depends on the act, and the timing of it. If I've got a crap ton of stuff in my cart, and the person behind me has one or two things, that's no problem on its own. Now, if there are five or six folks in line behind me, then it's more of an issue - I don't mind letting one person go ahead, but no way am I letting five, and I don't want to have to deal with the "Why her and not me?" nonsense that can lead to.
Big exception for me is on the road - I'm by the book there. If you're trying to turn left through my lane and there's a bunch of folks behind me, I'm sorry, but you're going to have to wait. I got hit by a goddamn FedEx truck because someone did this and didn't realize that I was driving in the right-hand line. That's where what some people consider courtesy is actually an act that can put lives in danger.

I've never thought of being passive aggressive polite. I'm not entirely sure how that would work. For some strange reason I find the idea amusing though. Personally I'm very polite and quite capable of being very aggressive. I tend not to mingle the two. The purpose of manners is to lubricate the edges of our interactions. I'm not sure it matters why we use them – only that we use them.

I think I would assert that females have more capacity for pleasure, in the sense that we have (often) the capacity for multiple orgasm with little or no refractory period. But many women's libidos seem to come and go over their lives, with childbearing (I'm told), aging, menopause and so on. Men might operate within a refractory period which changes over time, but for the most part, their libidos seem to remain strong over their lives.

Without getting hung up on sterotypes and over genralization I feel that the men that I've known in my life are better suited for pleasure compared to the women I know. Men seem to be able to seperate pleasure from everyday hang ups. A 'take it when I can for what it is and enjoy it in the moment ' attitude.
The women I know...including myself...get bogged down with children and body issues etc adnoseum...

No way I can give an unbiased opinion here since I'm not a woman, but I'm going to go with men for a couple of very general reasons - individual experience may vary but...
-we're faster to arousal and faster to climax
-what arouses us and takes us to climax has a wider range
-we've often got the ability to separate love and sex
-we're more often likely actively seek sex for pleasures sake
-we can and do have sex and just totally skip the emotional drama

Passive aggressive *anything* is difficult to for me to deal with. But I must, and with flair, because some people speak it fluently, and with gusto, and I gotta interact with them effectively, on a daily basis. I bust out my coping mechanism toolkit when I encounter it.
I much prefer "mean what you say, say what you mean, but don't say it mean."
And which gender has a greater capacity for pleasure? Gender fluidity is, like, all the rage right now, isn't it? Methinks we sound like a buncha old creaky biddies opining about such a thing.
But to answer the question-- I think it is specific to the individual. I've met men who are cold effing fish, and women who are raging nymphs.
And pleasure isn't specific to sex. My BF totally gets a semi from watching welding videos on youtube. I am guilty of foodgasms. Also footgasms. Also eargasms.
