Coulrophobia Grips This Board

"Bring in the clowns."

I like clowns. If it wasn't for clowns, we'd be stuck with politicians, stockbrokers, financial consultants, and (gag me now) bankers.

Twelve clowns squeezing out of a Mini Cooper make me laugh.

I even liked the clown on American Horror Story. Red Skelton and Buster Keaton were my favorite clowns. Then, of course, there was Bozo the clown.

"Laugh, clown laugh."

For me, the border between clowns being funny and creepy is pretty thin. I'm not saying I'm scared of clowns, but once they pull out a knife or start chasing you that is pretty creepy indeed. But then again, that applies to normal people too, it's just more creepy when something that's supposed to be happy and entertaining is threatening at the same time. But as long as they don't do anything and are just standing around there is not reason to fear them in my opinion.

Brings to mind the cheesy movie "Killer Clowns from outer space"đź‘ đź‘ đź‘ Kant

I've never liked clowns, even as I kid I thought their antics silly and not funny. The clowns themselves range from pathetic to scary. The only clowns I liked were in rodeos. But I haven't been to one in more than forty years.

On the other hand, politicians and talking heads as clowns sounds right.
