I got this idea after reading a couple of stories where the tentacle monsters were the victims.
Essentially, what if people starting hunting down and gathering up tentacle monsters for their own needs as well as to sell? The tentacles are kept as prisoners and their population begins to decline as they are kept away from one another and their captors give them drugs to make them incapable of impregnating them.
This injustice will not stand though as a new society forms to help get the creatures off the endangered list and back into their natural habitats! TPS agents help crackdown on the capture of these majestic beasts and release them into the wild after giving them drugs so they can resume breeding...possibly with the very people who enslaved them.
Don't have any specific plots in mind though I just liked the image of someone dominating a tentacle monster, only to have a commando team bust in and set it free to launch out at the person who captured it.
