Young Frankenstein is not only my favorite Wilder movie, its my favorite movie.

The best movie he was in was his first movie, Bonnie and Clyde. His second best movie was his second movie, The Producers. "It's all downhill from there" isn't so bad when that's your starting point.

He probably could have retired after Young Frankenstein; nothing he did after that was very good, and no, I'm not forgetting the movies he made with Richard Pryor, which haven't held up very well.
