Not sure where to put this question or if i should even ask it, but when writing detailed sex scenes and having these images in your mind, does it make you horny when you write? I guess it's a measure of the scenes's hotness if it makes the author bothered but I have to wonder if it effects people more then others?

I always imagine the sex involves PILOT and TEX, and there's no problem.

Why of course. I envision myself as the lead character in my story, who seduces the girl, who shares the adventures, and who ends up the hero. Doesn't everyone? :)

If I'm writing about something I'm into, yes.

If I were writing about somebody else's preferences, no. Well, not to the same extent, anyway. I mean, if you know that what you're writing will definitely get somebody else aroused, than that in itself can be a bit arousing at times.

If it doesnt then I'm not generally writing at my best, also if it doesn't turn me on how I supposed to get the right reaction from my readers? My aim is always for a genuine reaction.

I get myself turned on before I start writing a sex scene, so I'm in the right head space. If what I'm writing doesn't keep me excited, then I know it's time to make changes.

Usually yeah. With a few rare exceptions. I suppose it's part of the "write what YOU like" mentality. Or the "write what you know" line of thought.

By my thinking, if it doesn't turn me on, why should I expect what I'm writing would turn anyone else on? I also don't cook anything I think is disgusting. I can, and on occasion I do. But when you're cooking something you love, you have more enthusiasm for it, and put more tender love and care into it.

I carried this to erotica from writing horror. Often the best horror is a concept adapted from something that scares the writer. Which is why I enjoy writing (and reading) horror in the dark. Seems to amplify the fear a bit. If it gives me the chills, perhaps that will bleed through on the page.

I write what I think is hot. So it usually arouses me.

More often, with me, being horny and getting sexual images is what feeds the writing rather than the other way around.

Yes. If it's not turning ME on then it will probably be as ineffective to others.

It's also a general truism that the hornier one gets while they're writing erotica, the more virile the output.

No. I try to focus on how to write things, the dialogue, the set ups, the sex acts, things like that. The clearer my mind, the better I write...I think.

How hot it ends up being, that's up to the person reading it.

A clear mind is great for editing a sex scene, for sure. While writing it, I need to be able to feel it and feel what would naturally happen each step of the way. There's no way in hell I'm going to do that with a clear mind ;)

It's that whole "write drunk, edit sober" thing, again.

When not trolling the forums, I am working on a story that hits damn near all of my hot buttons. So for a direct Answer to the OP, damn right.

I actually don't (yikes).

It's like being behind the scenes in a horror movie; on the screen it looks terrifying once the daylights have been edited out of it, but all you're seeing at the time is some dude covered in ketchup or red dye.

But then writing is like pulling teeth for me at times and often takes several (and I do mean several) sit down sessions to whip out one chapter, plus there's a whole bunch of other external stuff going on at any given time that keeps me distracted on that level.

Typically, yes - but off and on throughout the writing process. I'm not spending the entire time in a high state of arousal, but yes, I do.

In my interactive writing, how horny I get often depends on the other writers. If they write well about something I find exciting, it gets me terribly horny to write my part of the scene.

When writing a story alone, the sex scenes always make me horny. Why would I write a sex scene that didn't excite me?

Readers is the answer. Cock never excites me, but PILOT, TEX, and LC need it. Add PUSSY to a story and PILOT assumes its there just to insult him.

You'd normally have to be writing something erotic for it to make you horny, JBJ, and you don't write erotica--or at least you didn't last year when you were actually writing and posting stories here rather than just pretending you were.

Damn right it turns me on writing my sex scenes in my stories. If what I'm writing can't turn my ass on, I can't have the unrealistic expectation it would turn anyone else on to read what I envisioned with my writing during the sex scenes.👠👠👠💋Kant

Yes and No

I get horny creating the story, but not necessarily writing it.

(And this will be my 500th post. Am I now a Guru? If so, do I get a card or something?)

I'll pat you on the back. Congrats! 💋 Nobody said shit when I made my 500th post. So I'm inclined to believe it doesn't mean anything important👠👠👠 I did notice I could expand on the length of my profile some.😎
