Newbie Sub Looking for Advice

I was totally kidding but kind of not.

Yeah - I can see the value in just having the info available to someone with the same question. (Except when it's deleted)

There is a lot of good stuff from a lot of good folks. :)

I reply 50% for the original poster, and 50% for others reading. Maybe it's more 33/33/33% with the last third being for myself. It's a risk you take. Maybe what we said didn't sink in, but maybe we've planted some seeds that will sink in when she's ready.

Yes. I feel this way too. I make posts on topics such as this for the benefit of not just the OP.
And if "the room" has helped anyone, none of us have wasted our breathe (or pixels). :rose:

No, but suggesting that someone can't follow something just because it's complicated IS patronising. If you wanted to say your post was convoluted, then just say that, and maybe apologise for not being able to write more succinctly, rather than implying if the reader can't follow you, it's THEIR fault.

I didn't imply that at all. I merely warned it was complicated, and that attention was needed. Anything anyone else put in there is on them. Not myself.

Then just say it's complicated - it's up to the reader whether they want to give the requisite attention or not. Try reading '... so follow along closely' (or whatever you wrote) out loud and see if it doesn't sound a tiny bit condescending.
Also, if more than one person points out the same thing (which they did), you might consider whether they possibly have a point, rather than that they're ALL stupid.

It wasn't really that complicated. Long winded perhaps, but that's pretty much the norm here. I agree it was a bit condescending, only reinforced by the tone of your text.

This probably will make sense to only a few people, but I think the OP's Master and hooterbif's girlfriend should get together.

I just read this thread today.

When I saw the word "anxiety," I actually thought that this WAS my girlfriend (but upon reading further details, I see that it is not....).
