Did one this summer in London. WWII style, lots of pretty well themed puzzles. We apparently aced it, on account of being nerds, and sober at the time.

It can be a blast if you're with a group of people you can tolerate.

The UK had a TV series 1990-95 featuring escape room challenges. It followed a French TV series called Fort Boyard.
