What pissed you off today? Mark II

1] Something I'd said to myself reminded me of a guy I went to school with, so I started thinking about them... Only to realize my thoughts had jumped to a different underclassman tuba player with the same first name.

2] Checking IMDB on a TV repeat I was watching to see an older guest star is apparently still alive (20 years later, in their 80s), but hasn't worked in a decade.

PSA:

Don't bypass a blown fuse with a penny, it's dangerous and a huge fire hazard.

But, if you do, SAY SOMETHING TO THE GUY WHO COMES TO WORK ON THE FUCKING FUSE BOX!!! You don't want a fried tech on your conscience, do you?

This week suddenly feels quite long already.

I wish I could have a ( pj?) party.

Let's switch up the pool party to a pj party. Build a blanket fort, watch old movies...

It's all rainy here... under covers and cozy sounds nice.

Rain rain go away.

A rare invitation to get out, energy expended to make it out the door. Got a mile down the road and it started raining so hard we couldn't see. Had to turn around and retreat back home.

Watching this lady "playfully" kick her kid in the arse. That shit is not funny. Your kids learn how to treat people from the parents. WTF!

Persistent insomnia that I've joked about with on here getting worse.
Example: Insomnia causes headaches, headaches cause insomnia.
Woo.

I think it's been rescued with the hand dryer pics :D

It will take more than a political debate to kill THAT thread off.....:rose:

How about the next President institute a law that says all hand-dryers in public restrooms must have paper or some other sort of material in them to dry hands on?!

I know it's "no friend to the environment", but me walking out with still-wet hands (& drops of liquid on my shoes, &/or the bathroom floor for others to step in/slip on) is no friend to... Well, my actual friends (nor total strangers I have no actual opinion of).

What's that coming over the horizon? Oh yes - yet another guy who is starting an argument with me, when he has no knowledge about his subject *sigh*

This one is a young guy working for a design agency. He couldn't even get the name of the material correct that he's asking for, and some parts of his enquiry aren't physically possible.

So I've spent an hour working through all the different possibilities his vague enquiry covers and sent a very polite and tactful email back to him.

His response? 'That's far too expensive. It shouldn't cost that much.'

Well, my friend, I wonder how you've reached that conclusion? Because I know that the material supplier wouldn't quote you because you're not in the trade, so you have no idea how much it costs. Which is a lot. Which I warned you it would.

But I won't say that - I'll just suggest he gets an alternative price from someone else, and walk away.

And in my own defence - 90% of my social circle are men, so it's not some kind of sexism on my part. It's just that women in my industry seem to open to advice and help, and don't take it as a slight - the men, on the other hand, fly off the handle no matter how polite and tactful I am. It's getting old.

Hearing from my brother and his wife that their small dog has just been attacked and killed without provocation by a large dog that was on the loose, having been taken out of a rescue centre a week earlier. :(
.

Being coerced by outside forces to go see my dying father. Annoying because in my mind it's equivalent to somebody I've never met in my life who lives in Germany suddenly contacting me out of the blue and asking if I'll go see them. So it's not actually him that's annoying, more so the amount of effort that I'm going to have to expend getting there and back.

And please don't feel sad for me or anything, I specifically never mentioned him on the cancer thread because doing so would devalue the genuine anguish of people here with sick or dying relatives.

A certain someone eating all of dinner all by himself and not leaving any for anyone else. I cooked it by the way.
