If the hate for Ghostbusters16 is misogyny then what is the love for Wonder Woman?

The Wonder Woman trailer is getting a huge number of thumbs up.

What's the explanation for that?

Generation snowflake and their social justice warrior gold star for everyone bullshit.
This is most likely the same crowd that thumbs-downed Ghostbusters though. They can't be both misogynists and SJWs.

That's because there is no misogyny....it's just a shit reboot among many.

It's just SJW's screaming victim because they can.

Ghostbusters was funny and Wonder Woman's armor ain't never made no sense. the Superman Vs. Batman movie was terribly boring and took itself ridiculously seriously.

This is why Marvel is kicking DC's ass, because Marvel discovered they could have a sense of humor.

Ghostbusters took monster downvote attacks and directed Twitter attacks.

It's a good movie, it got panned by people who didn't like it because apparently boobs ruined their childhood but they don't mind taking My Little Pony from little girls.

The Ghostbusters is a movie and cartoon franchise in which the protagonists have always been depicted as males

The Wonder Woman, comic book, films, television have always depicted the protagonist as female.

There is nothing inherently male that is fundamental to the protagonists of Ghostbusters.

Wonder Woman's gender has always been and foremost her defining feature right to her origin having come from a land solely composed of women

Changing the genders of the Ghostbusters protagonists would in no way change the fundamentals of the characters

Changing the gender of Wonder Woman would nessceitate a change of the 75 years of history, and the very title of the character

If the only fundamentals of Ghostbusters that was changed was gender, then misogyny is valid critcism. If there were outrage about Wonder Woman being portrayed by a woman, you would have grounds for criticizing the role being cast as such and being misogynistic

If the gender is truly not an issue, there also wouldnt be multiple threads about it

That's baloney about Ghostbusters.

Yes there are those trolls that hate it just because women, but there are so many people that gave it negative reviews for reasons that had nothing to do with women.

And there are those that didn't see it because the trailers just didn't make it look good because it not being funny and/or special effects looking cartoony, and they just don't want to invest themselves in seeing it at the theater citing many reasons given that weren't "this movie has boobs!"

There are many negative reviews of Ghostbusters by people who loved Mad Max: Fury Road and The Force Awakens, not to mention the Alien franchise and Terminator, and are looking forward to Rogue One and Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel.

There are many positive reviews for this movie and many negative ones. Sure there are a group of asshats that hate it because of women cooties, and on the other side there are people forcing themselves to say it was great because notto would be a betrayal of feminism. On both sides those groups are the minorities the rest are earnest opinions of their feelings about the movies good or bad.

Wonder Woman = Hot

Ghostbusters = Anti-hot

Now, why would a hot woman get thumbs up and non-hot women get thumbs down?

Is it really that hard to figure out?

Wonder Woman I have never considered to be any level of modern icon for femininity. She's doing guy stuff, dressed the way a guy would want, even in the TV series she's a secretary. She's created by a guy, drawn by a guy and it definitely shows. Any 'girl power' is negated by the length of the skirt. Women can wear what they want, that's cool. Wear a short skirt. In a fight though? No, how about we wear what actually keeps us safe in a fight.

However, Holtzmann is my kinda woman.

How did you get a picture of me in my armour?

I saw it, I thought it was fun.

It's not a masterpiece, but I'd much rather watch Ghostbusters get worked over by Feig than Star Trek worked over by J. J. Abrams who believes the original was "too cerebral."

He brought back the miniskirt and made all my favorite guys misogynist and then just blew shit up and that was FANTASTIC with everyone.

Yeah, there are a group of asshats. Without said asshats, possibly women would get better roles, more jobs, better pay... see a trend here?

It matters.

I saw it, I have an opinion. I'd be honest if it sucked and I didn't think it did.

These women have skin in the game. That game was 'get roughed up on social media' by directed attacks. Leslie Jones hounded off Twitter.

You can't just say "a few asshats" when it's LOTS... and LOTS of asshats. When enough asshats do a directed attack... yeah. The point is... guys don't get this sort of attack. Women do.

Unfortunately if you're not a woman in the field of entertainment you have NO IDEA what women go through. I have, I do, and if you don't believe stories like Tina Fey saying "I wanted to do a skit with Amy Poehler and I was told 'nobody wants to listen to two women talk'" then unfortunately... you just think it's a small number of guys and not the rampant bullshit that makes men decide they can do this in a group and be not only safe, but RIGHT and REDEEMED and POWERFUL.

Nah. Tina Fey's done fine. Amy Poehler's done fine.

But nobody can fucking explain to me why Paul Blart movies keep getting made.

Maybe ghostbusters got negative reviews because it isn't funny? Maybe it got negative reviews because the cast sucked are aren't funny to most people? Maybe you should go make me a sandwich and shove that "because they're women" bullshit up your ass.

There's a lot of maybe coming off this post.

I'm not sure though...

I'm a girl though, what do I know?

If but that's not the case and fundamentals aren't the end all be all so you can't really say that either.

The original was a classic, the second stank because it didn't care and this one blew because they tried too hard.

The EVIL white male patriarchy that makes western civilization SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fucking unbearable and horried for all women and non white males isn't the problem with Ghostbusters and it's poor box office performance.

The shitty movie is the the problem.

If you liked it that was fine, if you feel you've got skin in the game, fine too. I don't agree with women being treated that way and I hope the field opens up for them. But I'm sorry, no matter how bad it is for women in the entertainment field I also can't agree with dismissing all the people who gave legitimate reasons why they didn't like this movie or don't want to see this movie as women-haters.

I believe if you go back through what I wrote you won't see me dismissing anybody's genuine opinion.

I'm pointing out the assholes whose opinion is... *puts on glasses*

Let me see if I've got this right...

"Maybe you should go make me a sandwich and shove that "because they're women" bullshit up your ass."

Yeah, that's it. Stuff like that. And if you don't think that people with that opinion downvote something and don't leave something that obviously rabid...

Well, have I got a bridge..

Wait, no, I don't. That's a lie. I'm not really selling anything, I'm just not buying bullshit either.

Have you seen said shitty movie?

Oh, bless your heart.

Can't answer because you know you're full of shit. You can't replace Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd with unfunny nobodies and expect it to get good reviews. The actors suck and they are not funny so they get bad reviews. Plenty of people with vaginas didn't like the movie either. It just so happens you like shitty movies. Deal with it.

When you said
"It's a good movie, it got panned by people who didn't like it because apparently boobs ruined their childhood but they don't mind taking My Little Pony from little girls."

Seemed like you were painting all the critics with the same brush.

Definitely this movie got downvoted by misogynists out there but the thoughtful critics are getting lumped in with the asshats and for all the positive this movie is getting there's also a well argued criticism out there.

I want to be an ally to women, to feminism, but if I can't say "this movie looks like shit" without getting branded as everything wrong in the industry, well, that's ridiculous.
