go to user CP (on the blue bar near the top of each page) and turn on your PMs

Click on user cp in the upper left. Click on edit options. Scroll down and tick the box that says enable private messaging. Scroll down and hit save.

If you have messages enabled...then in the top right corner you should see this...

Click on the Private Messages link to see or send a PM.
