One of the stories I had submitted has : https://www.literotica.com/s/incognito-1 [change] with the [change] being blue. Not sure if I'm supposed to change something or if the editor changed something. I did mention in my notes that I wasn't sure of which one of two categories I picked. Is there something I should do ?

Sometimes the category or description or even the title to a story will be changed by Laurel. If you object, you can resubmit with your complaint in the "Notes" field. If you have a good case, they might change it.

Thanks, I think it could have fit in either one of the two categories depending on one's perception but I don't really care which one. It's a short story,my first, with a kind of low-level eroticism.

The "[change]" link seems to always be there next tot the file name. I assumed that it let you change the name of the file, but I never tried it.

I have it against all of my stories.

I have never used it because most of my titles are unique on Literotica. The few that aren't e.g. Photo Shoot have a number against them. That url with the number identifies my Photo Shoot story so why change?

I tried using that blue "change" once, just to see what would happen. It didn't work, I couldn't change anything.

Are you saying they want me to change the title ?

When I clicked on the word "change" which is displayed just like I above in my first post, it sends me to the submission page. Maybe the title, "Incognito" was already taken ?

Is your story "Approved" if so then no worries. If it isn't then they would have told you it wasn't and why.

It doesn't say approved but the pending is black, you can't click on it. Below that next to the title link it says "change" in blue if you click change,it goes to the submission page. I read that as they want a title change but I'm not sure..... I'll wait until tomorrow and if it is still there I'll change the title.

Just did a Google search using incognito / literotica and found a story with the title incognito. I was going to change the title but the change link won't let me ....what now ?

The change link lets you change the stored name of your story.

If the name of the file in which your story is named (e.g. incognito-1) and you want to change it to...say...incognito-chapter-1, you can click on the link and change it.

ETA: Your story has to have been approved. If the link Pending is black and not the blue of a link, the story will show approved on the date displayed.

When I click on the blue "change" link it just takes me back to the view your submission page, but it does't allow me make any change, like it does when it says rejected . My I sent a message to the webmaster?

If your story has been approved and the Approved link is active, when you click change...

https://www.literotica.com/s/a-night-out-with-mom-1 [change]

You should see this...

attachment.php

At the end of the New URL you will be able to enter a new file name.

No. They don't need you to do anything. We all have that link.

The "-1" at the end of the url for your story means that there was already story named Incognito (which you now know). The site added the "-1" to make the url unique. Changing the url shouldn't change the story title or anything else that you have already provided.

Unless there's some reason to change the url, there's nothing for you to do but relax.

Thank You, I'm more than willing to change the title. Now, I'll just sit back and see if the story appears under "New Stories".

If the submissions page shows that the story has been approved (congratulations) then the date it gives is the date when it will post. Stories post early morning in the US, but I'm not exactly sure when.

Thanks, It still says pending but the pending is in black. I will give it a day or so, to see what happens.

The [change] link has nothing to do with the title of your story. It has to do with the name of the database entry it is stored under and the URL that is used to access it.

All stories are stored on the server under unique names, hence the -1 at the end of yours. incognito-1 is the item name in the database. That is all it is. Even if you change the Title via an edit, the item name will not change. All information about your story is stored in the database with the key to those records as incognito-1.

The complete URL https://www.literotica.com/s/incognito-1 is a link to a PHP statement that will gather the parts needed to display your story.

Hope this helps. You need make no changes, unless the story is rejected, or you what to edit it for some reason.

i checked it this morning and it is approved. I would like to change the title is it too late ? The second was rejected for punctuation ?

You can change the title...resubmit the story. In the notes field let Laurel know you just want the title change made. Tell her what you want the title to be. Include a link to your story in the note to make it easier on her.

Don't for get to add the word EDIT to the end of the title when you resubmit it.

Or you can send her a private message with your request. Include the new title and a link to the story.

Even after the story is approved and listed ?
