What's your favorite type of story from the category list ? I seem to favor the non-consent / reluctance stories so far .

I like whatever I'm writing at the time, and I've cycled through several categories: Romance, BDSM, Fetish, NonCon. It's usually the more extreme categories that draw me.

For me, it's erotic horror, sci-fi & fantasy, and transexuals & cross dressers, but I like anything dark and moody. I'm not a fan of incest / taboo, though. Not many of the other categories overly interest me, but I do take the time to read a few of the stories for some reason. đź‘ đź‘ đź‘ Kant

As long as its well written, can hold your attention ,make you want to read the next installment and of course excite you,i like a wide range of stories

You want to know my favorite type of story to write or read?

Write:

Personally, I like to write in Loving Wives or Sci-Fi. I have also dabbled in Erotic Couplings and Incest. But basically, I write drama or adventure stories that are either LW or Sci-Fi in nature.

Read:

I write what I like to read...unfortunately, not many stories here are even close to what I write, so I read very few stories here, I'm afraid. Those I do are few and far between and most were written by authors who have long since left Lit for other pastures.

My favorite to read are Erotic Horror, Lesbian, NonConsent, NonHuman and Sci-Fi & Fantasy. I guess my favorite to write is Lesbian Sci-Fi & Fantasy since that's what I started with.

It was the Incest/Taboo stories that brought me to this site, but I also read a lot in NonHuman--especially when the stories in either category involve breeding/impregnation.

I wrote my first story last month--Incest/Taboo--and it did pretty well. I've had a lot more fun writing my second story, which is posted in Erotic Couplings. I was shocked at the positive response it got, considering I never read that section.

She answered for me, that's like me.

Write: Satire

Read: I like the serials here, although I don't like the ones that are never-ending. Give me a novel-length story with good characters and I might try any category other than lbgt and parent/child incest. Those two cause my squick alarm to ring.

My favorite type of story on Lit. is one that was completed before it was posted.

Write: my stuff ends up in several different categories and rarely fits well in any of them. My best is in Non-erotic; it has a couple racy scenes, though tame by standards here. My sci-fi contains non-con and my non-con all has sci/fi or future dystopian elements. There's no ball gags or whips in my BDSM story, just one bondage scene and a lot of D/s, but then there's no D/s category, go figure. I've put stuff in Romance or EC for lack of better categories. Categories here do not make sense. Period.

Won't write: LW, Incest, GM. I probably wouldn't do NonHuman either, but only because Yawn.

Read: when I read at all here it's for a stroker. Usually I get bored looking for a good one within minutes. Bad strokers are a serious buzzkill.

Although I started the thread and said I was favoring non-consent / reluctance, took the would right out of my mouth.I can appreciate any well written story though I don't find certain categories more interesting than others. Character development is essential if you want an interesting story. Unfortunately short stories limit character development. As for plot, you would be hard pressed to come up with a plot that hasn't already been used in some short story or novel. You can add a new twist to a warn out plot but it 's the characters that make you want to keep reading .just my humble opinion .

I agree with you, a sequel is ok as long as the original lends itself to one. i haven't read any of the series so i don't want to pre-judge them.

My favorite 'type' of story isn't a category, it's a style. I like readability, and compelling reads. I'll admit that Group's fun and LW's drama first drew my eyes to LIT. I now mostly write Incest, much of it group-ish -- but I rarely read Incest and some other categories -- UNLESS they're in a certain author's bibliography. I'll read almost everything by compelling writers. No, I won't name names, and my 'Favorites' list does not reflect my current likes.

I have to agree with you.Since most plots are just rehashed it's style and character development that carries the story...short stories don't allow for a lot of character development.

Which do you consider a couple of your better stories ...I'll give em a read.

I'll give it a read...I like an story type if it's we'll written. As a would be writer i can learn lots from a well written story.

Don't read here much, but its usually incest mostly sibling stories, but ones with a romantic angle that plays off the emotional taboo as well as the sex. "Sis is hot, why not?" isn't my thing.

I've probbaly re-read Paco Fear's Words on Skin and Stolen Kisses a half dozen times each.

Thanks :) I hope you like it.
And I agree--quality of writing trumps all. Hell, I'd read a well-written LW story over a shitty I/T story any day. At least, I'm assuming I would. I've never read LW.

I'm with you here. The only exception, for me, are the "Whoops! The earth shook/floor got slippery/road got bumpy, and now we're having sex" stories.

Group or LW

My favorite categories are by far Group and Loving Wives. My favorite story type is hardcore porn with a plot :D

Incest / GLBT / Mature do very little for me. Some of the more rare fetishes actually turn me off big time.

Outside of Erotica I like SciFi/Fantasy. I really enjoy Heinlein, Bradbury, and Robert Jordan.

I do like "good" science fiction. I also like apocalyptic themed stories an have given thought to writing one though not an erotic version.
