I'm new at this and I am not very good at it

A lot of folks at Literotica are very seasoned at writing erotic fiction, but I am very new at it, and it shows.

The kind of stories that I am fascinated by are within the femdom genre; slightly sexual, but not outright porn either.

I like stories that have a devastatingly beautiful female villainess or evil queen. A character archetype that is ruthless, seductive and bent on total domination. I would have her win again, again and again, foiling every plot to take her down, as she becomes more and more powerful and enslaves more and more men under her boot.

Suggestions, as to how I might get better at doing this? And where might I find stories that fall into this genre?

Practice makes perfect they say. Have you tried story search using the tags you listed?

I would suggest my story "The Diablo Masquerade" as it fits some but not all what you listed.

It's a hardcore, sci -fi fantasy erotic story that involves a transvestite(but there is an equally beautiful woman that appears in several chapters as a supporting character. The character is somewhat powerful, has flaws, suffers a great deal to grow in power leaning to use sex as a weapon in the end, but I doubt the main character is hell bent on world domination.

As far as the ruthless and seductive elements to the characters, those elements appear in later chapters as the characters "grow" in their efforts to stop a maniacal man's evil scheme and company merger.

But the main character isn't evil. I would say the transvestite character is bad ass in the end with the help of the supporting female character.

Stories in which the lead character wins, wins, and wins again are often not very engaging. What keeps us reading is often adversity: things to be overcome. Even where the main character is on a pathway to the stars, a few obstacles will usually make for a more fulfilling read. Maybe you should try pulling the rug out from under your all-conquering evil queen from time to time. 'That which doesn't kill us, tends to make us stronger.'

Hey sugar, welcome aboard.
:)

I have dramatically improved my own writing by coming on here, and working hard in response to feedback from readers and tips from seasoned writers. (Roll Sam in some salt and pepper and flour, and I will lick him all over!)

I also found a couple of truly great editors, who made brilliant suggestions and tidied up my run-on sentences.

Good luck!

just write and submit, take the [constructive] criticisms and suggestions n board. develop a thick skin, too.

and then write some more.

and write some more.

there's a UK model by the moniker of Lady Sonia who does some good femdom stuff. not writing, but she's a decent muse.

oh, and did i mention, keep writing?

good luck. :)

Same boat...

I'm in the same spot as you are; what's been especially difficult is finding an editor. My stories are a little naturally dark/depressing and I'm seeing that to make them more enjoyable I have to have another set of eyes on them. I'm not sure how finding an editor works though.

The best way to find an editor is to go on the Editors' Forum. There you can see who is currently looking to do some editing, and also put up a thread asking if anyone is interested in editing your exquisite erotic e-writing. If you put up your own thread, remember to give details like what genre you write in, how long you intend your story to be.

When you have finished your story and are posting it, make sure you ask your editor how they like to be acknowledged. A word of gratitude in italics before the story starts is generally how it's done.

I can't help with finding stories, but I do have a suggestion:

Remember that any erotic story should be first and foremost a Story. Every trick and technique you can learn from any author in any genre will apply equally well to Erotica.

Spelling, Grammar, Characterization, Vocabulary, Description, Plot, et al are the tools you need to write a mystery or a stroke story and only the effect you want to produce changes.

Asking the editor before submitting a story is an excellent point since not all VE's want their name added.

Also, if finding a VE doesn't pan out, a beta reader may be helpful. Find that thread here.

Start small. Get a pic that intrigues you and write a short description and a bit about the characters in it.

Make sure you grammar and spelling are very good.

Keep paragraphs to between 4 and 8 sentences. More or less is too short or too long of a paragraph.

The role play threads are great places to get some writing experience. A better writer than you as a co-writer will improve your own writing.

Try to limit how many times a sentence or paragraph starts with 'He', 'She' or 'I'.

Grammar and spelling may not save a bad story but can kill a good one.

I only started submitting stories a month ago, and I'm finding that good, constructive feedback is hard to come by. Most of the critiques I've received have been more about the subject matter than my writing.

It would be great to get feedback from seasoned writers, and not just people reading my stuff to get off (not that there's anything wrong with that, since that's the whole point).
What's the best way to go about getting that?

As was said, write, write, write. Then write some more. And be not faint-hearted when the fucktards start with the death-threats.

Here, or in Story Discussions, or in volunteer reader threads, wave your hands, jump up and down, post a link to your story, and ask for reactions. If you ask for a VE on the Editor's Forum, be sure to mention the story's category and its word count.

As for drama: It helps. I've done journal-type tales where narrators amble from fuckfest to fuckfest but it's more interesting when they have challenges to overcome. The OP's evil queen should be overthrown and imprisoned a few times; then she can escape, re-conquer, and exact retribution. The formula for successful adventure tales is the keep throwing shit at the protagonist: constant chases, roadblocks, setbacks, al of which are overcome en-route to the McGuffin. In a serial, each chapter needs a cliffhanger ending; how will the evil queen escape the assassin, the betrayer, the siege, the cell?
