Include an image in a story

could anyone please explain to me how to include and image in a story?

embed it in the text of the document. i used word. then upload the whole on the submissions page rather than copy and paste. it might take a bit longer to get thrugh the system, however.

and you're probably better off asking such questions in the Authors Hangout. here: click :)

this is the text from the submissions page:

If you choose to upload your story, it should be uploaded as a plain text file with a file name ending in ".txt" if possible. If your story has bold or italics and you need to upload a Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx), OpenDocument (.odt) or a Rich Text (.rtf) file, you can do so, but you cannot preview it online and it may take slightly longer to be posted because we must process .doc and .rtf files manually. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.

I've written illustrated stories and I usually insert the pictures in my Microsoft Word document. This ofcourse makes the file size larger. Then you have to use a different file upload site to upload the document. After that fill the submission form without uploading any files. Just mention the name of the file you uploaded on their upload site and you're done. And just to let you know., illustrated stories take longer to publish.

i think i used rtf. also, Laurel, or whomever, seems to resize the images within the document as well.
