why cats are smug

Cats don't have owners. They have staff.

i have one now elderly mog indoors - she's 18 and in the nicer weather is like a teenager, just dropping in to demand to eat, then demands to go out if the door/windows are closed, or (if she's annoyed with me) uses her tray and THEN demands to go out, and in wet or cold weather will find any clean towel or laundry to lay on, jump onto a freshly cleaned surface to have a scratch shedding hairs all over.... the worst of her coming in and demanding food (no matter what else i'm doing) is that she then wants to eat alone and gets the hump if i'm still in there washing up or putting shopping away... she's a little mare. i let her get away with more now she's old, but when i give her fresh meat and she picks it out and drops it on the floor then walks away that takes the biscuit.
