Yes. Man who ran a garage and lived a couple of houses down from me It was well known he usually had a lot of cash on him. A couple of guys got into his house and killed him.

My college room mate was murdered about 5 years ago in the Philippines. He was having an affair with a recently divorced woman and her ex-husband and his friends cornered him one evening and attacked. He died from a machete blow to the skull. Although everybody (including the police) knows who did it, no one has ever been charged for the crime. Last I heard, his body was still in the morgue, awaiting a trial that will probably never come.

Yes, a friend and customer to my business was home late one night. Three drugged up people crashed his door open, and demanded money. He didn't have the money people thought he had. When they didn't get what they wanted, they beat him to death.

Thankfully, they were caught and convicted. Two young women and a young guy beat a harmless old man to death, a man that had never hurt anyone.

Yes, two. Both executed. One by a drug gang the other by burglars. They never had a chance and literally were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Yes. She was a few years younger and grew up near me. We had sex twice. She eventually married one of my friends.

20 years ago she was six months pregnant when she was murdered. She was stabbed multiple times and had her throat slit by someone she had fired several month earlier.

I was a pall bearer at the funeral and sat through every day of the trial, and the appeal. He in prison for life without parole.

Apparently there's a difference between the US and where I've been living.

Yes ... when I was a kid a girl I knew was kidnapped & murdered. Her killer was caught and sent to prison for life.

A 19 year old girl, a family friend who went south to Myrtle Beach. A guy who was friends with her roommate came to the apartment demanding money for drugs. When she did not comply, he beat her to death...didn't find her for a week.
