My idea for this is to take the depth and brutality of Game of Thrones and recreate that within Tamriel. Characters from both franchises would exist as well. For instance, the Targaryens are a rare bloodline of High Elves that were subjected to multiple generations of mutations and dragon-blood infusions from Alduin and the other Draconic Skylords. This gave them pale skin, white hair, purple eyes, and the magickal ability to harness Dragonfire. Eventually, the Targaryens secured a set of Daedric artifacts that allowed them to enslave their former masters, becoming dragon riders and labeling themselves as the Thalmor. They rose up under the banner of the First Aldmeri Dominion and set out to conquer the rest of Tamriel.
Centuries later, a rebellion was sparked by a young Nord warrior named Tiber Septim, who was later revealed to be a true Dragonborn, christened by the Divines themselves to put and end to the corruption that plagued the world at the hands of the Targaryens. Varied stances on the conflict led to shattered governments and numerous splintered factions around Tamriel, culminating in what was known as the War of the Great Schism. Eventually Tiber Septim vanquished the Targaryens and their dragons, facilitated the signing of the Treaty of Cyrodiil, and in that spot they built the Imperial City, where all races were welcome and treated equal. Tiber Septim would be crowned as Emperor, ensuring every kingdom had a voice in the First Empire through representatives in the Imperial Council.
When Tiber Septim finally died of old age, his Draconic soul ascended to Atherius, becoming Talos, the Ninth Divine. His offspring went on to sit on the Ruby Throne for many generations to come, leading to the present day Emperor, Uriel Septim VII. The story of our characters will implement elements of all the games, as well as original creations. We'll start out as prisoners in the Imperial dungeons who were arrested when a wedding celebration got a bit out of hand and turned into a drunken riot. Some of us may not have even been at the wedding, but got picked up anyway in the mass confusion.
As we are sulking in our cells, Uriel's advisor, Jagar Tharn, attempts to kill the Emperor, only to find him gone. Uriel received a vision moments earlier, and knew of Tharn's impending betrayal. A handful of his Blades -- Imperial bodyguards -- led him into the dungeons to escape through the sewers. Upon seeing our characters, he recognizes us from his vision, claims we have a destiny to fulfill, and orders the Blades to release us. He then asks us to accompany him to Cloud Ruler Temple, a heavily-fortified stronghold nestled in the snowy mountains north of Bruma, near the Skyrim border. From here we can go off on adventures retelling some of the narrative from Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, and finally Skyrim, ultimately leading to the revelation that our characters are Dragonborn. We can sew in a lot of the story from side-quests and faction-quests as well into one enormous, over-arcing, multi-level epic. Anyone interested?
