Dairy Queen

Mmmm, I love DQ. I think there is only one left in our area though.

Words cannot describe how much I love Dairy Queen!

Out of all the fast food places, their food is the best! It's always hot and tasty!

And the ice cream! Blizzards! Banana Splits! Peanut buster parfaits! Dilly Bars! Ice cream cakes! :D

I love their shredded chicken sandwiches as long as there's not too much pepper in them.

Our best friends owned this old style Dairy Queen --^^^^--when the original owners moved to a new modern store. My friend renamed his Dairy Dream and it's still open after he and his wife retired. It seems that even though the name changed their place was basically just like the old style DQ
Similarly when A&W changed their rules another friend just used their own name and got rid of everything that said A&W. The food, building, etc remained the same.
Both have my favorite banana splits and tenderloin sandwiches.

Back in the midwest Dairy Queens were and basically still are like the top one.
Her in Florida many are the barn style while some new ones are much different.
The big changes are inside seating now.

SHIT, Zumi! My town recently completed the modernization of one of those old buildings. It was so sad. I wish you could have indulged in it's architecture and my company.

Went to this one last summer

I went on a "Fall Foilage" steam train ride in rural Wisconsin one fall.

On the way back, the conductor announced we'd be seeing something truly amazing...a "train drive thru" at the Dairy Queen.

I'll be damned if the train didn't slow down and take "drive thru" order through the train windows. They'd punched two holes in the rear of the building, one for train drive thru orders and a pickup window.

If Amtrak stopped at Dairy Queen, maybe people would actually ride it! :D
