The setting for the first transgender surgeries (mostly male-to-female) was in university-based clinics, starting in the 1950s and progressing through the 1960s and the 1970s. When the researchers tallied the results and found no objective proof that it was successful—and, in fact, evidence that it was harmful—the universities stopped offering sex-reassignment surgery.

Since then, private surgeons have stepped in to take their place. Without any scrutiny or accountability for their results, their practices have grown, leaving shame, regret, and suicide in their wake.

One has to admit that this latest effort on the part of the administration is a first step to get those private surgeons back to feeding at the public trough.

Good article, but for a few things where the reporter was misinformed imo.


1.Quote from the article : "Since then, private surgeons have stepped in to take their place. Without any scrutiny or accountability for their results, their practices have grown, leaving shame, regret, and suicide in their wake."

From what I read, treatment is multidisciplinary anyway, and surgeons aren't left to their own devices.
And for the majority "diagnosed" with GID, sex-reassignment therapy is appropriate and in some cases even life-saving.


2.On the other hand the article is partially right - in that a very small % get misdiagnosed unfortunately, leading to disastruous consequences (psychological, treatment side effects).

Which makes some of the over-the top PC measures applied to impressionable kids ( if implemented by head-masters and politicians instead of health professionals) quite dangerous.

And here we are now, our federal government attempting to shape the mind of an entire nation via the minds of grade school children. This type of subversion used to be much slower, and in the universities. This is unprecedented. And if you disagree with me, close your eyes and imagine a president you don't like doing this. Take killing. Most people can kill but few do. Homicide is a tool in our kit, tho.

I don't hunt. My son luvs hunting and cant fathom my problem with hunting. I like to fish. My son doesn't get fishing. He argues how fish is available at any store while deer never is.

The late psychiatrist, Milton Erickson, MD, suggested trannies are uncomfortable interacting with real females, and wanna interact at a cosmetic level limited to makeup and wardrobe only. I agree.
