Is Sinead O'Connor a goner?

Telling one kid to not abandon the other is lame. If she's suicidal, that's what she is doing. The link from the previous OD is an eye roller, when she claims to doing it to get respect.

I need to remind my family to not allow you to give my eulogy.

I've heard worse. "Used to be pretty good but turned into a has been later in life" is much better than "Dude was an asshole and I'm glad he's dead" or "I'm only saying all this nice shit because he left me some shit in his will."

As for Sinead, it sort of looks like she just wants attention. I got no use for her personally but I don't wish her dead so I hope that's all it is.

Ironically Sinead's later music is actually far, far better than the early Nineties stuff she's most famous for. But it seems pretty likely her mental issues will be what do her in, whenever that happens.

This is not that day, though. The Tribune reports she's been found alive and well. Or if not "well," she's no longer missing.

What a relief! Thanks guys.

Mods, please destroy thread.

Sinead O'Connor is safe and sound this evening.

She's a fucking bellend but one of my all time fave tracks is by her. Thief of Your Heart from the In The Name of the Father soundtrack. Beautiful.

That is a great track.

As for her personal struggles, one can't know for sure but she has the feel -- especially looking at her Facebook stuff -- of someone suffering from BPD. And BPD is a bitch; you'd like to sympathize with sufferers but unfortunately the delusional and erratic behaviour associated with it makes them fucking intolerable as people.

Really? Nobody's heard of that track? That movie was a big deal back in the day. Now I feel too old to be marriageable. :(

She, herself, has talked about having BPD and something else which I don't quite remember.

i like sinead and i'll always find it darkly amusing that she still gets shit for ripping up the pope's picture simply because we had yet to hear about the child sexual abuse scandal in the states at the time. seriously, fuck the pope. also, troy is fucking awesome. right up there with pissing in the river in my nonexistent list of best raw and emotional breakup songs ever.

What is BDP?

Google sucks today.

I actually had in mind Borderline Personality Disorder*.

Bipolar sucks too, obviously, but there's medications and treatments to manage it and relatively speaking it's a lot better understood, I've known lots of very functional bipolar people; "borderline" by contrast is really a catch-all term for a cluster of related antisocial disorders that can't really be medicated and for which there are only a handful of even marginally successful therapeutic approaches known, being practised by a very small number of therapists. Borderline sufferers -- and those around them who are suffering along with them -- are virtually still in the dark ages of psychiatric treatment, and often seem to get wrongly diagnosed, which is why they seem never to improve despite therapy and medication.

(* Sinead has mentioned being bipolar, as Noor mentioned, but her behaviours scream "borderline" to me. It's something that stands out to anyone who's had contact with it, though that said, it's still super poorly-defined and I'm not pretending to be a psychiatrist or anything. It does seem that borderlines are often misdiagnosed as being bipolar, or in some cases as being on the autism spectrum.)
