Transgendereism

If I feel like a woman, identify as a woman and dress as a women, can I compete for women's grants, scholarships and on the softball team even if I cling to my penis and testosterone?

Where does this crazy train end?

Teh Chief deftly tries to pivot the conversation from "places to defecate" to "places to educate" because they have so much in common...they sound almost alike, and as we all know...

Education Bad!

I'm wondering if this would even be an issue if it weren't a presidential election year?

Yes, it would. The Social Justice movement is a relentless march to total nihilism...

Maybe, maybe not. I'm just working through this administrations public obsession with a mental disorder that effects such a small % of the population. Aren't there far more important issues to be dealt with?

Ishmael

No, they have to keep constantly attacking rationality. Obama wants to do big things before he leaves office which is why he is attacking the schools. He's not doing it for the election, he is doing it for all future elections, the younger you can get to a child and demand that it accepts A as the equivalent of ¬A, then the more power you have over their choices in life.

And even so, and if politicians decided to focus on transgenders for their political campaign,
why invest so much money into talks about bathrooms?
Why not invest all that money and effort into some other anti-discriminatory campaign, one that's lifesaving or that would make a real difference for this minority?

But wait … the bathroom topic is more sensationalistic and the public pays attention, whereas people get bored and gloss over news that talk about the really important stuff,

I'm telling you that this has little to do with the election and a lot to do with fundamentally transforming the way we define sexuality, and the best way to do that is though the schools, and the younger you can get to your captive audience, the more effect you can have. Obama is not content to run out the clock on his Presidency, he wants to go out doing as much damage to traditional culture as he possibly can; that is the only connection to the election.

Will the residents of NC feel winning the battle is worth saying bye bye to the federal funding? Will the feds push it that far?

Oh I understand that. But they were doing a particularly fine job without this issue. The nations public schools have been on their way of becoming a fount of mis-education without having to rearrange the bathrooms.

Someone posted the possible loss of Federal funding to the various states public school systems. I wonder if congress will finally find its balls and have a word to say on the subject?

Transgender potty policy is rapidly becoming the defining issue of the year.

Not unexpected when The Donald is the presumptive Republican nominee.

No. And that's why Trump!

They are terrified of what the press will say about them, they'll be called names like radical and when the left, under cover of their press stakes out an actual radical position, the Republicans run to the center and begin negotiation to the Left, if they negotiate at all.

We need someone not afraid of the press who will stake out a radical position to the right and force the Democrats back to the center, or this will be the last competitive election ever held in America.

After that, everyone will be too intimidated to speak up, hoping that the government comes for them last.

It's no mystery. In order for the government to continue growing and justify hiring new employees they have to create rules, regulations, and solutions to solve problems which they created or don't exist.

You're welcome. :D

What a rousing jingoistic defense of radicalism!

"We need to be radical...because reasons!"

Tell us again how conservatives have a G-d given right to their own judicial activist in the Scalia Memorial Supreme Court seat.

And that's the important part.

This is a problem that doesn't really exist unless you can teach children early that it is a desired result to ignore science and experiment with their sexual orientation in order to slap traditional values into submission.

Is the anxiousness to import as many Muslims as possible without any background checks, an election-year issue, or a goal to be achieved while it is still possible?

Ditto the open southern border...

This issue is just one of the 10,000 cuts.

Note that President Obama cannot force the private schools, like the ones he sends his daughters to, to engage in this madness...

;)

It's just our children.

Hopefully they go to one of those whackadoodle colleges that will force it on them without any coercion from the state...

Note that Obama doesn't want to try to work this through the legislature...

He'd put Democrats on the spot.

Yeah. Someone posted it.

NC knows the fed funding threat is weak, but what state could not use some cash for the schools? There will be push back from both sides.

Do not act like the topic has not been dealt with on the school level. There are trans kids using staff facilities, showering after everybody else, doing whatever it takes. I doubt that separate showers will take care of the problem.

I think at some level, Ish and krewe know this.

They just want to use this kerfluffle to demonize someone/something that's "different".

"They're.....they're #NotLikeUs!"

^^^^^These too.
Two conflicting ideas somehow -are neolibs. bureaucrats or idealists?-, but just as interesting.

As an outsider who doesn't know much (and doesn't care for either, other than for entertainment or interesting ideas) about US or any other politics, I notice two types of liberals. As portrayed by online articles or political forums.
The only thing that unites them is their contempt for the Right, but they are worlds apart in terms of mindsets. Give me an intelligent and fascinating "republican hater" like Giroux any time, as opposed to the haters who engage in petty witch hunting and see only the trees for the bigger picture.

Henry A. Giroux: Liberalism's Failures in a Time of Increasing Violence, Racism, Inequality and State Terrorism
http://www.truth-out.org/opinion/it...iolence-racism-inequality-and-state-terrorism

"Henry Giroux elaborates on the failure of many liberals to move both beyond the call for weak reforms that do not challenge the fundamental structures of domination and their willingness to often align themselves with repressive policies that benefit the rich and powerful.
- He points, for instance, to liberalism’s refusal to name the corruption and misery produced by neoliberal capitalism and its willingness to align itself with policies of the right such as the Iraqi War, state torture, a health-care program that largely benefits big insurance companies, and the massive suffering caused by the growing inequality in wealth, income and power. He also points to the refusal on the part of liberals to protest a grotesque and dangerous incarceration and surveillance state, and the failure to address the issue of what it takes to reinvent politics so as not to serve the interests of the rich and powerful - the failure in short to name a counter-revolution politics that has corrupted both political parties.

Giroux also talks candidly about the failure of the left to develop a comprehensive vision of politics, often focusing too narrowly on economic structures and isolated issues that fail to recognize or emphasize that the crisis of economics is now matched by a crisis of historical memory, literacy, public memory and ideas and that what is truly missing from the left is any understanding of the crisis of agency, education and meaning."

Remember, his staffer gloated about lying to us to get the Iran deal...

;)

They lied on Obamacare too, and they're lying now about the reason they are taking up this cause, it's not directed to protect the transgenders, but to force our community schools to conform to the Liberal version of morality. Our is not wanted or desired.

"Perhaps the most evident sign of civilizational devolution is the inability or unwillingness to acknowledge reality, to come to terms with things as they are, and to oppose the suppression of objectivity and its substitution by fantasy, illusion and wish-fulfillment. The resonating dictum of the pre-Socratic Greek philosopher Parmenides from his fragmentary poem On Nature—variously translated as what is, is, and what is not, is not!—sounds like an empty tautology. But it has relevance for our present historical moment, with respect to the cultural and lexical inversions of contemporary thought and discourse. Apart from its metaphysical implications, which we won’t go into here, the Parmenidean maxim expresses the criterion for survival, the need to separate truth (aletheia) from opinion (doxa) and to recognize things as they are if an individual, a culture, a people is to transact successfully with the existing world. But when thought and action come to be governed by the anarchic principle that what is, is not and what is not, is, a process of social, political and epistemological disintegration invariably sets in. This is the condition in which the West finds itself today."

A great list of the ¬A that we are to believe is A. ;) ;)
