In the last thread on the topic, the mental illness aspect of the phenomenon was from one of the leaders in the field.

I agree, there are hermaphrodites and other physical aberrations. There is also mental illness. Political discussion is when we fixate on one and exclude the other at the peril of the afflicted individual's future.

What we have a problem with, for those of you who do not get it, is the desire for urgent action at any price when the best minds in the field cannot explain the Science behind the idea that it cannot be mental illness that is has to be some hard-wired biological programming.

That is not how Science works. What we have is a desired outcome in search of a way to manifest itself, and that desire is an elimination of the separation of the sexes as if it were the identical problem to the bigotry of skin color.

The problem that I'm having is this over-the top PCnness of a small group of so-called "libs.", that often escalates to ridiculous proportions.


Like in the case of Target bathrooms:
- That was a silly poor-thought of move on Target's , because it enables sexual predators even pedophiles (who outnomber pre-op transsexuals by far) to take advantage of the situation and to peep into toilets.

And yet, it's Not the transgender minority who made a big hoo-ha about it. The politicians did, to further their political agenda aka to attack republicans.
- They claim to "care" about transgenders but in fact they don't give a shit and they just used them, because their bathroom campaign actually hurt that minority, more than it helped them. Just look at the public backlash and ridicule!

What we have is a problem with politicians not recognising that human beings can have a whole range of sexual features and desires.

Some of those features and desires are abnormal. But what is 'normal'? Who defines 'normal'? Is is essential that everyone is 'normal'?

There are some sexual impulses that are a threat to society e.g. paedophilia and rape - if the impulse leads to action. But if someone finds the IDEA attractive but does nothing - do they need treatment?
