Oil Sands & Construction Jobs Available in Alberta Now!

Wow. It's so bad. I was just watching the news. :(

80 percent of the homes have already been destroyed.

Silver Lining: With the oil downturn, there are lots of happy people watching their houses burn for the insurance money.

Is winter even over yet up there?

;) ;)

Weather gets strange out there...it can snow one day and be 80 degrees the next, right now its 80

Hell of a loss..I feel sorry for the people.
My daughter lives about 600 miles north of there..its still winter

For possessions, its content insurance..still sucks

I'm sure that, thankfully, none of them had any personal mementos that can never be replaced.

;)

No wonder they are so happy. :nods:

The Globe and Mail recently visited Fort McMurray and found a region where the jobless rate has climbed to 8.2 per cent — doubling last year's rate, and more than Canada's 6.8 per cent jobless rate.

People there are collecting bottles and cans they can exchange for cash deposits, and the food bank has seen a massive uptick in the number of people it serves.

Resident Arthur Christensen told the news agency that people who work in resources often don't realize it could "all come to an end."

"They spend every dime on expensive trucks and snowmobiles and quads expecting the riches to flow forever ... until we hit a rough patch," he said.

Mayor Blake is pleading with area residents to be careful in the extremely dry conditions.

“Please don’t light your backyard fires this week.

There’s the perpetual complaints I see from people witnessing others throwing cigarette butts out into the ditches.”

Blake is also asking people to stop flying drones over the fire area, saying it’s interfering with the ability to fight the blaze.

80% of homes in one small area of the city have been destroyed.

Very fluid situation, very bad.

To poke fun at it kind of disgusting.

A few months from now when they start to re-build it will help the local economy.

True...thanks for seeing my point.

Everyone has friends in fort mcmoney, bankerboy.

And it was probly someone you put in debt up to their nipples that dropped the match, so fuck you.

If you southern Ontario idiots would acknowledge that there are other people in this country we would all be a lot better off

600 miles is a lotta miles.

We've got leaves and I'm sending crews north to ice and snow where there's not even any mud, yet.

We don't have much snow left but no leaves...getting dry enough for fires here now...the water bombers have been practicing on the river

We got leaves and a huge bunch of birch pollen. Already had human caused fires in the woods. Fuckers.
