Not sure what generation 'we" refers to.

I guess I am Gen X with a sub class of the "MTV" generation. As opposed the the early X of Vietnam and the cold war.

When I say worse I refer to the Gen Z or 1995-current.

Baby boomers are kind of defined as space exploration/counter culture in my mind so not too bad.

Generation Y (give everyone a trophy) wasn't so hot as they are the parents of today's Z generation. AKA: Pussies

Boomers had it very easy from 1946 to 1973. The first Oil Shock signaled the end of the good times, and began the long slow decline of Murican Exceptionalism. The Middle East served notice that going forward, Actions Have Consequences, and oil prices skyrocketed when Murica supported Israel in the Yom Kippur war. Then the Shah got overthrown, despite massive Murican support. Moar consequences.

Boomers got their draft deferments when they were eligible for the draft, they got their VA subsidies (housing, education) until they didn't need them, they got their home mortgage interest deduction and now that they're moving into retirement homes, it's time to phase them out and balance teh budget.

Well, I read through the whole damned thing. The article ends with the presumption that the phenomena is a mental illness. And while I agree with that conclusion I find it hard to believe that it is that wide spread, or that it's communicable. Which makes me start to wonder how many of the sissified are seeing the attention the truly mentally ill are getting and have decided to use it as a power trip?
