This is excellent. If he had maintained this tone and style throughout the campaign he wouldn't have had to have put up with the sabotage effort against him. He could have actually built up the Republican party rather than ripping it apart.

If he has any hope of coming close to beating Clinton, he had better consistently present this image throughout the general campaign. It's not that most of his ideas were ever that nutty -- more so that he just acted like a raving lunatic.

He hired a guy a few weeks ago that's a campaign veteran. Can't remember his name. Probably the only guy in the room that isn't a total sycophant and that's what Trump needs but one wonders how long before the Donald can't take it anymore.

Unfortunately Donald doesn't understand the difference between "telling it like it is" and winging it. Americans don't want a President who wings it. When times are tough we don't much care WHAT the President, D or R, says, but we damn well want to believe he has at least thought it through.

Yesterday's message isn't substantially different in content than anything he has been saying all along, but by taking a stern but measured tone he removes most of the repetitions, actually connects several related thoughts together into a coherent stream, and finally comes across as a reasoned individual.

You would think that a business expert would have understood the marketing distinction between the "before" and "after" images long ago.
