A lot of serious deer hunters will stop eating meat a couple weeks before they hunt cuz they believe the deer can smell a carnivore.

I was working on my lawnmower one day in the yard. Turned around and was nose to nose with a deer that had been watching me.

I ate a nice juicy salmonburger laden with cheddar, jalapeños, raw red onions, Himalayan salt and something else, I forget, washed down with a Deschutes porter. I sat on a chair in our little mountain meadow reading Carl Hiaasen on my Android tablet. The usual clan of deer came a-munching. They walked up close and sniffed me. Didn't sneer or anything. I had a cousin who had a pet deer on his farm in Kentucky. She was really cool. Had the run of the place. Unfortunately, somebody eventually shot and killed her. I guess it was almost inevitable.

From what I recall after Jobs' adoptive parents (the name Jobs came from) told him about his birth he searched his father but by that time he was homeless/in the streets so he felt disgusted to even approach him.
