British bumfuckery

If Samantha Cameron doesn't take it up the arse, I don't know who does.

This sounds like a job for Fata. She'll straighten these wayward youths out.

Also: "The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine?" Do they name their educational facilities like they name their pubs?

The pub in our village was renamed Not long after we moved here. The uproar this caused was immense. the local press was making mockery of changing the name, people wouldn't go in there for about a year. ( some people still won't go).

you have to admit, naming a pub Not Long After We Moved Here is a bit of a weird name. not exactly a traditional british pub name :)

I do know of

A Pub With No Name

so called because of some gypsy curse or similar

Denny

:D. I think my point is it's hard for us to get the emotion , as we have no loyalty to the old name....which has no particular local connection or unusual standing. I think the name change was really symbolic of a whole lot of other stuff but...I was just pointing out, names are cherished. :)

I remember reading the name of that Pub but forgot. Maybe it will help if we know the old and new name. Then we can decide whether we go there or stay out. Also free beer helps with the decision.:D

Around here someone buys something and promises to keep the old name and the old employees. A week later everything changes. It's the American way now.
