Hi all,

I recently found this site and I’m a new member to this forum! I have previously written erotica for my own amusement and for my friends. My friends suggested that I should publish my stories and hence I’m working on my first book!

I was wondering if there is anyone out here who would like to review my stories and give me some honest feedback.

Feel free to send me private messages. Thank you everyone!

Don't do that, fuck everyone else's opinion. Write what you want, and learn from the ongoing process.

Are you looking for someone to edit / proof read your story before you submit it or are you looking for someone to review / critique your story after it is posted?

If it has already been posted, you might do better over in the story feedback forum.

Since we're not paid cash for our contributions, we must decide what rewards we expect for publishing on LIT. Some go for high vote scores, some for favorites and comments, or views (eyeballs), or the masochistic experience, or craft-honing, or self-gratification, etc. Clarifying goals really eases posting here.

My advice: Write what you want, post it, evaluate the reactions, and drive on with... what you want. If you post stuff here you don't like, you're probably doing it wrong.

Welcome to the forum.

There are two other forums here that you should know about. The "Story Feedback" forum might be a better place than the "Author's Hangout." to look for feedback. If you need something seriously constructive then there's the "Editor's Forum."

"Author's Hangout" can be a rough neighborhood when you want feedback.

Hullo! welcome to Literotica.

On this forum you can discuss writing issues and ask writerly questions. People sometimes ask for feedback here: maybe by posting a passage from their writing they particularly wanted to get an angle on. You can also sometimes get people here to offer to read your work for you.

If you publish your work on here, you will (not always, but usually), get feedback from actual readers. This is in two forms: they will give your writing stars to say how good they thought it was, and may leave comments. This can be a very good way to try out some writing. Some writers here do publish work free on here, then work on it with the comments and take it down to publish in a more finished form 'elsewhere' ;) Some really enjoy the amount of feedback we get here (much more than other erotic publishing sites), and just continue to publish free here.

You can find an Editor, as NotWise explained, on the

You can get additional feedback on a story you published here in Story Feedback: either by starting up your own thread, or a couple of writers have threads where they invite authors to ask for their personal opinion.

I see you already found and posted in the Editors' Forum, I'll just put up the link in case anyone-else wants it.

Good luck!
:)

Hey all !

Thank you for such a warm welcome. This is great ! As a new member I wasn't sure what to expect but it seems a lot is happening here. I'm excited and thank you for all the feedback.

As far as my book goes, I feel I'll have to post it in the story feedback forum as I'm looking for experience readers to give some honest feedback on my book.

If anyone here is interested, feel free to send me a private message. This way I can send you a free copy to review !

Thank you again for the respective guidance. I appreciate it!

Alas, we don't post books or stories in the forums. No more than three paragraphs, say the rules. You are certainly free to email copies to any who ask, but LIT works like this:

Submit a piece for publication (and don't be afraid to ask for help here). Wait the few days it takes the site's owner and only approval editor, Laurel, to post the story. Put a link to the story in your .sig or in a post to the Feedback forum asking for responses. Enable voting and comments for the story if you want direct reader feedback.

Welcome to LIT; we look forward to your writings. :rose:

Hope I didn't mislead you! when I said 'post your story here', I meant post it on Literotica, not here in the Authors' Hangout.

As Hypoxia says, you can't post your book/story in the Forums. You can submit it using the appropriate links (see FAQs) on the site - depending on the category it's in, you could get lots of feedback. You can also then post a link to the story in Story Feedback for more feedback. (Feel free to come back and ask more questions about what category might be best for your story.)

If you are a published Literotica author - ie you have stories up on Literotica, you can put a link to your book in the "Literotica Authors and their Books" thread above. You are not allowed to just splash advertising about your book about in threads on the Forum, although you can put a link to your website in your signature for people to follow up. (Have a look in the threads for examples of how published authors do this.)

People sometimes publish their stories on here for free, take the good feedback that's available and then think about editing and putting the stories up for sale elsewhere.

:)
