According to polls, sadly, a large majority of Americans under 35 not only don't support Trump but despise him. Even if you assume there is some bias in the polls, clearly a majority don't like him.
Interestingly, in Europe, nationalist parties tend to poll better among younger voters. Marine Le Pen does very well with 18 to 24 year olds. The same is true in Russia with Putin.
I would instinctively have thought that Trump would appeal to young people. He's a radical outsider standing up to the system, wants to bring real change to government, stands up to the powerful and elite of America and the world. Yet, we see massive hate for him.
Could be simply because a result of the demographic composition of the young in the US, with so many Hispanics, etc. I would still have thought he would appeal to at least a sizable % of them. And the young whites are supporting Sanders, which probably takes the white anti-establishment youth vote away.
Ron Paul did well with college kids as an alternative right wing candidate. I'm actually surprised Trump doesn't have at least a significant niche among young people.
