My favourite Manet painting.

I like that too - wasn't it massively innovative in art history terms for its use of the reflection in the mirror? Can't remember exactly.

Saw it in the Courtauld in London a few years ago (and Dejeuner sur l'Herbe, actually). Had gone for one of its special exhibitions of something or other, had a wander around the permanent collection afterwards, came round a corner and there it was! Stunning...

You're right about the chair, though, in fact the furniture in that hotel leaves much to be desired. Only stayed there because it was where colleagues were staying, but it's probably best described as 'utilitarian'...

Not that we had any time to ourselves to play, just that brief ten minutes for pics....
