Someone To Watch Over Me

Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart.
...live in the question.

Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

So many good ones here tonight, but this one really speaks to me where I am right now.

Thank you, cb, for all of the beauty you bring to this thread, and our lives.:rose:

Thank you Honey.
I am glad that any of these speak to you. This is my wish... that these posts may have some universal truths... some applicability for others. :rose:

He puts lights up because I love them...
for the holidays... and for other times around the porch etc. Sometimes in the house for an event of gathering.

I doubt he would ever do this, except he knows it brings me happiness.

But the joy it gives me...in spite of the unpleasantness and tediousness of the task for him (though I help him - I do), seems to make it worth it. All of the lights strung up... the diagrams drawn for replication of stringing next year... configuration of strings and extension cords - oh my...

The fact he does this every year... is part of how he cares for me. Tangible evidence of his love for me.

Intimacy is never purely physical. It’s about going through the boring stuff with a person. The how was your day’s, the oh, I have a dentist appointment tomorrow’s, the how did work go, the meetings that make up your life. It’s all part of knowing a person inside out.

The monotony of hearing about someone’s routine is extremely important. You become a part of that routine by asking them about it.

"For one human being to love another human being: that is perhaps the most difficult task that has been given to us, the ultimate, the final problem and proof, the work for which all other work is merely preparation."
~ Rainer Maria Rilke
