Ammon Bundy and 15 others accused in the armed takeover of a federal wildlife refuge — including four people who remain at the bird sanctuary — have been indicted on charges of conspiracy to impede federal officers through intimidation, threats or force.

Federal prosecutors disclosed Thursday that all four occupiers have been indicted on a single count of conspiracy for interfering with federal officers.

No cell phone service for the stragglers ?

But they'll never be as bad as Occupy Wall Street was. :eek:

Exactly which government buildings did Occupy Wall Street trash? Hmmmm? :rolleyes:

Take your false equivalency, shine it up real good, turn it sideways, and stick it up your ass! If ya smellllllll .....what the Rob....is cooking.

Oh gee, OK. I give the Malheur occupiers a complete pass for the way they treated The People's Property.

I will now take a piss in the Grand Canyon.

I have pissed into the Virgin River. It's a little downstream from the Grand Canyon, but close enough.

We are pissed at the occupiers because we love that area but don't know how 'outsiders' will be received now -- and we hope to return soon. We read the community has been torn apart.
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Oh fuck, I'm quoting Yeats again. Shoot me now.

But I digress. In most nations those involved in such an insurrection would be tried for High Treason and executed. USA usually doesn't respond so to armed rebels... when they're white rednecks. A group of Native Americans claiming a return of tribal lands might fare okay, especially if they plan a casino there. Anyone else... Imagine a group of Black or Latino or Asian or Arab radicals, or lefties of any ilk, taking over the Malheur. (Don't ask why.) LEO response would likely be a bit more forceful.

I like to think that the bunch was just spun out so the "up the line" support could be ferreted out--and that the Koch brothers and Donald Trump will have a tragic traffic accident one of these days. ;)

You mean the ones who never occupied government property and did, eventually, clean up after themselves?

I don't remember anyone stealing the people's money, attempting to take anything from the people (i.e. government), nor do I remember any equipment being stolen or explosives left behind.

But you're right, the two situations are very similar.

Actually LEOs regularly swept through Occupy campsites confiscating (stealing) everything in sight and leaving no receipts.

They did occupy public parks and streets and they did trash the Oakland city hall, and this went on for a long time. They did not clean up after themselves. I don't know what other crimes they committed. :eek:

The issue in Oregon is that they have identified the miscreants and have some of them in custody. Now we enter the Order phase of Law and Order. The Government has all the Bundy Brigade's leaders, members and a whole list of charges for which they have a very good case.

In Oakland it was civic disorder and few of the miscreants were identified and fewer were caught. If you don't catch them, you can't fuck them. Simple.

Careful what you say about The Tromp. Secret Service are probably monitoring these fora. It's okay to demand Obama's evisceration but mentioning threats to GOP candidates, oh no, the Men In Black will come knocking...

No, let's hope the RNC relents and allows open-carry in Cleveland -- and things get out of hand. That's nicely impersonal. No threats, nope.

They'll be met at the door by my own men in black. :D

Oregon Justice Department opens investigation of Grant County sheriff

The state Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation into Grant County Sheriff Glenn Palmer, who met with militants from the wildlife refuge takeover in eastern Oregon and urged authorities to concede to some of their demands.

The investigation will be handled by the Criminal Justice Division in Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum's office. The division investigates public corruption as part of its duties.
