I don't believe they count federal spending in a state as part of federal funding given to a state.

That being said at the hyper inflated mega super bloated/corrupted rates we pay for military shit we don't even need, the pentagon doesn't want and can't sell because too high tech....you don't get to separate the two. Because a HUGE chunk of our military spending is point blank corporate welfare, and it's hugely Republican. Military pensions and pay at large are fucking microscopic when compared to what Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Halliburton etc. suck up.
