I submitted a story on 2/28. She rejected it on 3/1. I edited it and resubmitted it on 3/2. The story is still "Pending" and Laurel has not responded to my Private Messages to her about the status of my submission which is now been pending for 2 weeks. I have a story to submit for the April Fools contest but will not submit until I know that she is around and reviewing submissions. - Yman67

Sorry you're having this trouble. My stories have been posting a day later than usual lately (three days rather than two) but certainly not that delayed. You might go ahead and submit the April Fools one to see if it goes through. Nothing to lose, I don't think.

I wonder if some of Laurel"s delays are intended to tell the author "Seriously? Think about it." This would not be for the two- vs three-day delay, but for the week or more delay as in the original post.

One of he earliest stories I tried to submit to Lit was ill-advised -- it was a writing exercise that would have had very little appeal. I submitted another story a day or two later and the second story posted before the first. I pulled the first story before it posted and I've been glad ever since that I did.

Busy with the rumored software upgrades, maybe? Gone on a whirlwind vacation around the world to see some of the settings from the stories she has to read? It can't be buried under a pile of manuscripts that was too precariously balanced and fell over on her. We don't do that here. Oh, wait.... there is a Literotica collections book or used to be. Ack! Laurel! Don't go into the light!

You should send a PM to her on this forum, just search for her profile. I doubt any of us have another way of reaching her other than sending her a PM as well.

I hope to Allah that she doesn't print out all the stories she reads. For the sake of the depleting forests, I seriously hope that isn't the case

This is the only place to send a private message.:devil:

The OP noted specifically having tried PM, which, as far as I know, is the only way to reach Laurel.

Correction, you could also email her or send her a carrier pigeon, oh and you can look at any mirror say her name three times and she will appear!

Not really, those are all ploys by the Lit staff that were originally April Fools jokes that turned into persistent events that don't work.

I followed your suggestion and submitted my April Fools story. I am quite used to the 2-3 day turn around time. What is unforgiveable, to me, is her failure to respond to my personal message. -Yman67

She has usually responded to my PM's within a few days. On the other hand, people get sick and have family issues, etc. - shit happens.

Very occasionally I've submitted something that has gotten lost in the electronic limbo. When I queried her by PM about a story or poem that seemed forever pending, she's responded by getting it unstuck and posted or telling me if there were issues I needed to take care of. So, a bit of patience.

Or we could clone her...

But yet while this thread was high up on the page, Laurel was busy defending the sites lack of giving a shit about long term issues and complaints in regards to contests, meaning she was on the boards, she could have popped in for an explanation or read it and responded to the OP.

But why would she do that?Attitude here has always been don't like it, leave
