I Was Wrong

Many years ago I learned dreams mean squat, and are simply nonsense. The sources of my belief are prominent neurologists and others who know brains. But them and me are wrong. I disproved the idea tonite.

That is, earlier I fooled around with some called eidetic imaging, and the 'test' for my foolery were a woman I knew 20 years ago, a car, and a few other objects/events. Nothing happened but I had a vivid dream featuring all of it: the woman, the car, etc. My brain put all of it together in a vivid, logical dream.

So now I must figure out what I did, to see if I can repeat it.

Nothing happened after I tried my eidetic imaging query the second time. No dreams I recall. Eidetic imagery is what you call PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY. My 2nd great grandfather had it, and demonstrated it all the time. The newspaper editor who wrote Adam Johnsons obituary reported Adam once recalled 20 pages from a medical book after one reading. He was an MD and language savant. I had perfect aural recall for a long time, but no more.

I suspect humans possess bicameral minds; one I call the archaic child mind, the other I call the adult experiencial mind. One is the source of imagination and creativity, the other is for critical decision making. Maybe dreams and hunches and eureka moments are the child mind in action.

Interesting that some great scientists exhibit that tendency. Neither Einstein nor Newton for examples had an original idea after they were 25, and both were considered somewhat immature as young adults.
